About this mod

This mod changes a number of unique items and artifacts in the game so that, once equipped, the player will be granted a hand-crafted lesser power that they can use while the item is equipped. Most of these powers are relatively powerful, but some also have negative effects to avoid abuse.

If the weapon or armor listed is levelled, the enchantment will be likewise levelled. In the following list I will present a few "highlight" items and their corresponding lesser powers. These highlights are presented at their highest level. Unless otherwise specified, magic effects are on Self.
A complete list of all affected items will be at the bottom.

Ring of Eidolon's Edge: "Eidolon's Gambit"

Fortify Blade 55 pts. for 10 seconds
Weakness to Normal Weapons 100 pts. for 10 seconds

Cost: 60 magicka.
Commentary: This is a powerful ring, so I wanted it to have a powerful enchantment. Of course, 55 pts. is a very, very high amount of increase, so I felt it was necessary that I also incorporate an appropriate penalty. All in all, Eidolon's Gambit gives the player an opportunity to do massive damage to an opponent, but is best used only when they can't fight back, lest you risk a swift death.

Shadowrend: "Fury of the Shades"

Chameleon 45 pts. for 60 seconds
Resist Normal Weapon 20 pts. for 60 seconds
Resist Magic 20 pts. for 60 seconds
Fortify Strength 15 pts. for 60 seconds
Fortify Speed 15 pts. for 60 seconds
Damage Health & Fatigue 5 pts. for 60 seconds
Cost: 25 magicka.
Commentary: Shadowrend is a devastating weapon, and I wanted the lesser power to synergize with this. Fury of the Shades will let you wade right into the thickest combat and hopefully come out alive. But be wary, for the spell is fueled not only by magicka...

Sword of Jyggalag: "Order's Smite"

Weakness to Magic 50 pts. for 30 seconds on Touch
Weakness to Normal Weapons 50 pts. for 30 seconds on Touch
Absorb Health 45 pts. on Touch
Cost: 25 magicka.
Commentary: This is an ability I didn't give any downsides to. I felt it was appropriate for Order's Smite to be powerful - after all, to even get the sword one must brave countless dangers in the Shivering Isles. One could argue that significant reward is "in order"!

Escutcheon of Chorrol: "Defensive Bulwark"

Fortify Block 20 pts. for 60 seconds
Fortify Heavy Armor 20 pts. for 60 seconds
Shield 30 pts. for 60 seconds
Drain Speed 25 pts. for 60 seconds
Drain Blade & Blunt 20 pts. for 60 seconds
Cost: 45 magicka.
Commentary: The Escutcheon of Chorrol is a heavy shield, and a good one at that. The Defensive Bulwark ability allows you to temporarily sacrifice some offensive power to instead be able to weather a series of blows from an opponent. This has a number of use cases, for example if you needed to wait out a debilitating spell or poison.

I chose which items would receive lesser powers mostly based around whether or not I subjectively felt like a power was appropriate.
