Overview
This is a mod that adds the demonic black blade known as Stormbringer, wielded by Michael Moorcock's
dark fantasy hero Elric of Melnibone, to Oblivion.
This Stormbringer is wielded by a vampiric conjurer called Elric of Summerset, who is holed up with other conjurers deep in
the Ayleid ruin of Beldaburo.
Details
Stormbringer is an otherworldly black sword which is devastating in combat, can drink a man's soul, and slowly takes possession of its wielder.
Sound familiar?
Hint: There is another black sword in this game with similar properties wielded by a certain bosmer.
Stormbringer has high damage and durability and has a powerful enchantment, which includes soul trap and absorb health/magicka/fatigue, so you will be healed as you deal damage to your enemies.
But there is a trade-off.
When you draw Stormbringer, an ability will be added called Demonic Drain, which will fortify your strength and endurance, but also damage your health over time. If you aren't careful to continually feed the blade blood and souls, Stormbringer will kill you!
New in Version 2.5: You can sheathe Stormbringer in combat and be rid of Demonic Drain, but this will anger the blade, and a spell will be added called Cruel Curse, which will drain your strength and endurance. To be rid of the curse, you must unsheathe Stormbringer again and finish combat with it equipped.
This mod is mostly for fun, and I'm looking for feedback on how it feels to wield this sword in combat. The drain effect is meant to be punishing for low-level characters, so I recommend at least a moderately high-leveled character before you take it on (at the very least you should have a good amount of health). I do realize though that because of all the factors that go into how difficult any given player's game is going to be (where your difficulty slider is, what combat mods you're using, if you're playing with OOO, etc.), balancing for this mod is no easy feat.

v2.5: messages, sound effects, and Cruel Curse effect added; Demonic Drain now buffs endurance as well as strength
v2: Demonic Drain now kicks in when Stormbringer is unsheathed rather than equipped.
v1.5: Elric is now level 50 and dressed in ebony armor with a few pieces of enchanted gear. This should make him a more challenging fight.
