Unfortunately I can't use this as it conflicts with Natural Environments causing the rain every 10 seconds bug.
EDIT: Used a patch from another modder that makes the new weather effects work with Oblivion's vanilla weather system and that fixed the issue.. Kinda. The backpacks and cloaks are awesome though.
Hey PushTheWinButton, I really like the simplicity and usefulness of this mod while staying lore friendly. I thought it could use some improvements to its funcionality though, so I made a few changes in the script:
- Removed item added/removed/equipped/unequipped messages to avoid spam; - Applied backpack encumbrance changes via script, removing the need for casting the feather spell everytime a backpack is equipped; - Extra Pockets is now a dummy ability instead of a lesser power (Doesn't change anything gameplaywise); - The combined version of cloak + backpack will only be equipped if the player equips a cloak while having a backpack already equipped (or vice versa), as opposed to automatically equipping both when equipping a cloak.
I mostly did this for myself but I could send it to you if you're interested in taking a look. It does require OBSE though, which I understand your current version doesn't.
I deliberately made this without OBSE so I’m aware that minor changes could be made using it, but the functionality won’t change. I’m not interested in implementing the increased carryweight by script, because I assume you’ve used ModAV, which leads to issues in some cases.
Hello,i have a question out of curiosity.I compared your optional files mod with this backpack mod https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/48574?tab=description using tes4edit.Under the enchantment category,thy are both pretty much the same except your mod has "health" under enchanment--effect--actor values while the other one has "encumbrance" there.Is this to avoid this Engine bug thing? By the way, could i remove the feather effect so that the backpack is just a visual thing?
Is there going to be a version that doesn't use the tail slot? Nearly every other extra equipment mod uses the tail slot.
I attempted to change the bipod slot to amulet "that slot should be covered under a cloak anyway" in tes4edit and that was successful but it would seem I also have to change the corresponding slot in nifscope and I don't have that or know how to use it.
Have you tried to set it to no slot? If I recall correctly I did that with a bag and it worked. In the CS you don't have to pick a slot for clothing items.
Soooo, I have tried numerous different cloak mods so far. I like the look of this one the most so far. However, when I activate the mod in Vortex and then go in-game, the cloaks and backpacks are nowhere to be found. I've even tried creating a different character but they still don't show up.
Probably a result of Vortex’s obtuse load order management. I’d say to try moving it to the end of your load order, but Vortex doesn’t let you do that. You’ll need to check in TES4Edit for conflicts and make a patch.

Can you make a version with backpacks only?
Or make it compatible with Capes and Cloaks? if it isn't compatible already?
I recommend Mod Organizer 2, btw.
