Are there still plans for new icons and are they are in the works? Not that it's crucial, but was wondering.

Hi Oooiii, sorry for the late reply.

yup, the updated icons are still planned, I was almost finished with them, but then got distracted with stuff and have been a little busy since. If I get a chance to, I'll try to get them finished soon.

      I don't think it's coming, roughly 4 years later.

    Hi mate !

I installed your mod but all the things that i see is green buggy texture on those gems. I actually tried to install it with vortex and wrye bash. i actually tried to install the Morrowind textures with the glow of your mod but that never worked. Your mod looks awesome btw ( in your pictures haha ).

Can you explain me the installation process pls ?

You can't install this with Vortex,is in BAIN so use wrye bash...you have to select the 00 core folder and then (optionally) one folder for each of the other numbered ones (so only one 01, only one 02 and so on...they are the different options of the mod)

They look horrible on my game too, even tho I chose only one of the 01, 02 and 03 folders (and obviously the 00 first)
      Like... why? What went wrong?
Manually should work well if done correctly, and I did it correctly.

Did you ever figure out what went wrong? I'm having the same problem and trying to troubleshoot!

EDIT: Setting my textures to large fixed it!

For those having texture glitches/issues.... big same. i went into a mages guild hall and got a big cartoony yellow sign reading "WTF?! IM A MISSING TEXTURE!" in my game that filled half the lobby, and the yellow sign clipped through the wall and over into the room as well. By the Nine! All that fuss for just one little lesser soul gem sitting on a counter?

Heres the thing....  i would NOT have bothered spending a few hours figuring this out and then typing up the instructions for you guys here if these werent the literal absolute best soul gems on nexus. These are perfect and theres no suitable replacement.  "Improved Soul Gems" does mostly the same thing as this mod, but with very outdated low res textures, no glow (i think), and no "skyrim inspired" color palette option which fits better with my character and mod list aesthetic due to its pretty cool toned colors.  My character likes softer prettier things and would not have liked the orange grand gem stones of the morrowind set.  so i just HAD to get this skyrim set to work.

Im using Mod Organizer 2 btw but this method should work in other managers as long as you can install from a zipped file.

    ><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><

Basically, dont follow the install instructions.
The instructions say run the BAIN installer, but just dont do it ok, just for this one mod.
    Do this instead:

-Uninstall this mod to start fresh

-Re-download a fresh copy of this mod MANUALLY.  Click the manual download button.

-uncompress the new downloaded mod folder and then open it up (i use winrar)

-Make a new empty folder on your desktop or whatever

-Name the new folder something different than the original mod folder to prevent confusion later (i named it Glowing Soul Gems - Repacked so i know what it is in my list, but it doesnt matter tbh)

-in the re-downloaded mod folder, open it up and youll see a bunch of folders with numbered labels, just like you would see in the Bain installer.  Choose one folder out of each number (and obviously choose core)
basically choose: which mesh, glow, and color palette do you want?  I did pulsing meshes, fractured glow, and skyrim colors.

-delete all your unchosen folders.  sorry, morrowind color pack.  youre going in the trash.  once theyre all gone move on...

-for each remaining chosen folder, open one at a time and drag/drop the entire contents into your newly made Repacking folder. Keep doing this until all your chosen folders are empty. Nothing will get overwritten, just drop em all in. Your PC should auto merge to keep textures in one folder and meshes in another but if it asks just say merge.

-once youre done, you should have a brand new tidy little folder called Soul Gems Repack (or whatever you named it earlier)
that just has an esp file, a meshes folder, and a textures folder. (these folders should contain ONLY the files from your choices from earlier, obviously) just make sure it has separate meshes and textures folders.

-right click on the repack folder and compress it to a zip file

-use this freshly packed and compressed folder to install the mod into your mod manager as you normally would. There will be no bain installer since you already made your choices earlier and packed it yourself.

i use MO2 and to install, i  just go to file, install new mod, select the new repacked zipped file.
i use manual install button to see if MO2 gives me a red or green on file structure.  if red, right click root folder and "set as <data>" then you should be given the green status.
then just activate the mod and enjoy!

    Good day.
They now look buggy with black, greenish and weird blue textures, and they don't appear to glow at all, I installed as mentioned in the comments below, what gives? Will deleting the mod fix it back to normal?

    Thanks

Are you sure you installed correctly? maybe a mod conflict with some other mod overwriting meshes or textures?

Did you ever figure out what caused this? For me, I had to set my textures to large!

While doing the mages guild quest when you go to investigate the altar... When I place a soul gem in at the right time and cast soul trap on the altar... the quest updates that thats how the necromancers are making black soul gems, however the gem you get from the container after the ritual is the same... Its not a black soul gem. Any idea as to why this could be

Fantastic mod! I installed this alongside Soul Magic and it works great. Went with the vanilla+ textures (even though the Morrowind black soul stones look much better) and even though it's a very small change it just feels... nicer.

hi there, sorry for the late reply, first off i'll say that if your not using a mod manager (Wrye Bash, Mod Organiser 2, etc), you really should into doing so, as it help immensely, even when only adding a few small mods.

With that out of the way, the reason for the multiple folders is that it's called a "BAIN" installer, it's mainly meant to be used with a mod manager as it gives the user an easy way to customise the installation of the mod (different colours of the soulgems, for example), but it can be manually installed too, all you would need to do is to copy the contents from each of the differently numbers folders,

EG: copy contents of 00 folder into the games Data folder, then you'll need to copy contents of ONE of the 01 folders (the colour of the soulgems), ONE of the 02 folders (which type of Glow you want), ONE of the 03 folders (if you want the Glow of the soulgems to pulse or not), and obviously make use the .esp is activated.

However, this is much easier if you use a mod manager to install mods, so i would highly recommend looking into one if you don't use one already.

      Hopefully that helps you. :)
