About this mod

Adds 3 lore-friendly ruins to Cyrodiil

Permissions and credits
Welcome to the 41st installment to my Oblivion Immersion Series.  Cyrodiil borders almost every region of Tamriel, and yet the signs of cultural contact between the provinces is non-existent.  In other words: why don't we see evidence of Argonian ruins in Blackwood?  Or Nordic tombs in the Jerall Mountains?  And where is that ruined library of the Alessian Order that the lore texts talk about but never appears in game?

This mod addresses that by adding 3 ruins to Cyrodiil:

- A Nordic tomb in the Jerall Mountains
- An Argonian xanmeer to eastern Blackwood
- An Alessian Order library ruin to the shores of Lake Canulus

One extra thing about the Alessian Order ruin is that rather than just have it be a generic ruin site to explore, fragments of relevant lore-texts from ESO can be recovered from the ruins.

Multiple versions are available.  The main file, entitled Random Ruins of the First Era, is an all-in-one file.  Each of the ruins is also available individually as a optional download.

Will be incompatible with mods that edit the sites the ruins are placed on.  The Marukhati Library site is incompatible with UL - Eastern Peaks.  I have already checked Eastern Peaks for the possibility of compatibility patches, and I have unfortunately determined that a compatibility patch is not practical.  First, the site for the library ruin is lore-specific, so I can't move the ruin and adhere to my standards of lore-compliance.  Second, while I have previously ensured UL compatibility by editing my own mods to work around UL, that is not achievable in this case.  The changes that Eastern Peaks are both extreme and extensive enough that I would have to make edits to Eastern Peaks itself to give Random Ruins space to fit.

The Nordic ruin is compatible with UL - Jerall Glacier.  The Blackwood ruin is fully compatible with UL - Blackwood Forest.

Known Issues

Some of mjy's meshes lacked collision, so I had to place vanilla floor segments behind/underneath them to provide substitute collision in game.  These will not be visible in game, but their placement may be slightly off, so your characters feet may sink slightly into the mesh.  The Marukhati library collision fixes for the walls had to be placed behind indents, so it is possible for your character to partially clip through the interior walls (don't worry, the extra meshes I placed behind them will prevent you from falling into the abyss).

I received a hefty dip in performance inside the Markuhati Library ruin due to the size and abundance of meshes in the space.  This is, unfortunately, an unavoidable consequence of what I selected for this project.

Feel free to come to me with questions or issues and I will help as best as I can.  That said, please bear in mind that I am a novice modder and may not be able to offer much in the way of assistance.
