I would like to do a request: is there a way to create a patch to make this compatible with Note to Self? This mod is replacing the content of the notes with [read]...
I'd have to take a look at how Note to Self saves its content before because my mod only makes changes to the title of the book/note/etc without touching the contents. If it within my knowledge, then I can certainly make the appropriate compatibility changes.
I have a question, and if anybody knows the answer, I'd love to hear: I read on the issues page it says that books read before installing the mod don't show the "read" tag, fair enough. does anyone know if there's some sort of file in this mod that keeps tab of what's read and unread, and if one could go into said file and make it so books with the issue of not showing "read" can actually say it? Not a deal-breaking issue, but I have a bit of OCD and that bothers me that some books don't show that I've read them. Does anyone know a workaround?
The problem is that prior to installing the mod, the books that you have read are not being tracked in any way that I am aware of or is accessible via script (except maybe the skill books in some way). If someone does know of a way then I could easily implement it in the mod.
Thanks for giving us the ability to change the [Read] tag.
For whatever reason I wasn't really "seeing" the [Read] with the old version. This time I've changed it to [*READ*] in hopes to get my attention. I may just change it to [ * ]
Any chance of adding another option to the ini to have the [Read] (or whatever the person picks) show up BEFORE the book title?
EX: "The Lusty Argonian Maid [Read]", "The Lusty Argonian Maid [ * ]"
"[Read] The Lusty Argonian Maid", "[ * ] The Lusty Argonian Maid"
(had to edit, for whatever reason the forum thinks an asterisk inside brackets is a Bullet List.
Unfortunately I just haven't had the time at all to mod Oblivion and I don't think I will in the near future unfortunately. It's a definitely a good idea though. If I ever do have the time in the future, I will implement it but I wouldn't expect it to happen anytime soon.
I love this mod but could you in the future create an esp name and stick to that name every release. Its not good for saves to keep changing the name of the esp. Thats what file versions are for.
Ah you're right, I didn't even consider that. I had the different name to keep track of which was which in my own files but forgot to change it for release. Thanks for the reminder.
Hello, thanks for the mod. I have a question. I want to translate the [Read] string because I play with a different language, but I can't seem to find its location in the .esp file. Where should I look for it?
Funny because I was just thinking about updating the mod to allow people to change what string they want to use. For now though, you would have to change it directly in the script itself. There are 4 lines you would have to change and all you have to do is replace [Read] with whatever you would like.
Yeah I've already tried that, translated all 4 [Read] entries with [Прочитано] and it didn't work out. Don't know why. I think I'll wait for the update :)
I just uploaded a new version of the mod and added the .ini file. I can guarantee that it works if using german and latin symbols, but I have no way to test cyrillic fonts on my system. Please let me know if it works or not.
On the first try it didn't work either, the text was displayed like this: https://imgur.com/a/Q9FJBYv Then I tried to encode the .ini file into ANSI using Notepad++ and it did work. Before it was saved as UTF-8 without BOM. It's all good now. Thanks for the mod and the update.
Glad that worked in the end. I tried encoding it as ANSI myself to test it, but then the .ini didn't work at all on my system. Really weird stuff, but looks like I should make a little note of that in the description.
The best combination you can get. I have decided for my current playthrough a slightly easier set up without MMM, Frostcrag Spire Revisited or Vampire Revolution. Just the two mentioned overhaul mods and couple of tiny mods. Somehow I like the vanilla Frostcrag Spire.
