Syclonix's Damage Enhancement System aims to make Combat in Oblivion more fun and less tedious by allowing you (as well as everything as in the world) do more damage. Unlike other mods which try to rebalance every item in the game, SDES revamps the damage system globally for maximum compatibility with other mods and maximum system performance. It is also packaged into separate modules so you can choose which parts of the mod to use. This means that you can use other weapons/magic rebalancing mods alongside SDES without conflicts. Lastly, SDES is a purist mod meaning I have tried to ensure that the game is balanced the way the developer intended it to be.

Weapons Enhancement Module:
All weapons (including any additions or changes from other mods) will do 200% more damage. This makes fighting more realistic and lets you take down enemies faster. It also affects your enemies so that their weapons do twice as much damage (You can adjust your handicap using the in-game difficulty slider).

Combat Spells Enhancement Module:
Combat-related spells do the same amount of damage but are 200% faster and cost 50% less magicka to cast. Effectively, this means in a given amount of time your total damage output will double, but your spells (and enemy spells especially) won't be over powerful. If I simply doubled the magnitude of all combat-related spells and halved the spell costs, it would be near impossible to beat some enemies. What's unique about SDES is that these spell enhancements will carry over when you make your own spells as opposed to other mods which only modify stock spells making it not worthwhile to make your own. Again, this means you can use other spell related mods alongside SDES such as a spell sorter. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, SDES does not affect non-combat spells such as Charm or Telekinesis. Health related spells however are affected to balance out the larger damage dealt/recieved. The types of spells affected are:
- Absorb Health (Restoration)
- Fortify Health (Restoration)
- Restore Health (Restoration)
- Damage Health (Destruction)
- Drain Health (Destruction)
- Fire Damage (Destruction)
- Frost Damage (Destruction)
- Shock Damage (Destruction)

Arrows Enhancement Module:
To counter the increased speed of spells and to make archery more realistic, arrows will travel 200% faster. And like regular oblivion, arrows still travel faster than spells. This module does not modify any arrows or bows and should be compatible with archery-related mods.

Damage Multipliers Enhancement Module:
While not a strictly purist alternation, it seemed strange that sneak attacks stoped becoming more effective after passing the novice level. Check the readme for details on how this changes damage multipliers for sneak attacks.
