This version fixes the equip bow bug that Alenet wanted me to fix. Alenet also helped with tracking down the fix. I also enabled blockhit, recoil, and stagger animations, thanks to miguick for the report.

I get some ctd after a longplay and after load my game trying to mount my horse. I decide to put the older version (0.6) and then I can fix the ctd If you want to use the bow with the (0.6) you have to equip the bow before to mount your horse but you can't change your weapons on horse.
When I'm riding a horse while weapon unseathed, horse turn abruptly in a very fast way always to northwest weirdly...don't know why tho. Too bad I really wanted to use this mod :/
The problem with Alenet's variant in Oblivion Reloaded is that it crashes the game...so if this doesn't that'd be awesome. Oblivion Reloaded's variant of the "enhanced camera" is also inferior, as it messes up targeting of objects. It'd be a tough choice between this and Enhanced Camera, it's too bad Oblivion Reloaded's variant doesn't not crash the game, let alone being compatible with each other :(
This mod looks great, but I want to try and reduce the number of plugins I have, and since I already have Oblivion Reloaded installed which also has Mounted Combat.... how do they compare?
20 months later.....Is the above statenment true for Oblivion Reloaded ver8.2.1 (OR8.2.1). Has there been any updates to OR's Mounted Combat since then, to make OR's Mounted Combat stable or does it still crash the game, and this 'Enhanced Mounted Combat' mod is still the best option?
What about OR8.2.1's cameraMode..... is it still inferior to Enhanced camera in terms of targeting objects.....
....Also do I still need the Enhanced Mounted Combat - Thieves Guild Fix here: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/48629?
which fixes the issue of getting expelled from the Thieves Guild after attacking from horseback......
Probably not a problem isolated to this mod, just noticed that when I summon a conjured bow using Av Latta Magicka while mounted, the game crashes. I tested with other bound weapons and this doesn't happen, so it looks like there's a mild incompatibility there.
Aside from that, seems to work perfectly fine. Poleaxes from tbsk local guards features look excellent in use on horseback.
My guess is that it is because Oblivion Reloaded already includes Mounted Combat, and that is used so widely. But additionally, the one issue with Mounted Combat is that opponents in the game aren't really made for it, so its mostly just for funsies.
Thank you for this mod. It really improves the experience coming from Skyrim to Oblivion. Yes, BBB works fine on the horse, lol. I can start conversations with NPCs, pick alchemy ingredients, shoot fireballs all from the horse now. Splendid.

This appears to be the only mod that doesn't do that strange 3rd person sand-up glitch while standing still thing.
