It is advised that you use Unofficial Oblivion Patch excessive draw calls fix It does include meshes from Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch too - so you'll need it to avoid some FPS drops. You may want to give Kudos to Pherim for this :)
Assuming you have a modern gaming PC and a setup where performance isn't a concern, SIUT is significantly better. In particular, the doors in Crucible look like smeared ass with this texture pack but look nice with SIUT.
I’ve learned a lot about these two mods since I made that comment and I have to disagree. I think SIUT is very rough in a lot of places and this is a substantial improvement. I guess it depends on the texture.
I tried the AI upscales, and they looked horrid on most things. It's overly smoothed out it looks awful and takes up way more space. The 2k versions may be passable, but the 4k ones are hideous and not worth the space.
Decided to come back to Oblivion after a few years and am interested in this mod. I have tried a couple different ways to create an omod out of this and it does not seem to be working. Any ideas?
Yeah, if OBMM doesn't work, try Wrye Bash or manually in a worst case scenario. Make sure your Oblivion is OUTSIDE Program Files directory (mod installation often doesn't work correctly there, Windows UAC interferes).
Sorry if this is a silly question, but you don't seem to explicitly state it in the description: Do the fixed USIP meshes included here also incorporate Bomret's parallax changes?
I tried checking in NifSkope, but I'm not quite sure what to look for. Am I correct in thinking that it's the NiTexturingProperty Apply Mode being set to APPLY_HILIGHT2 that enables parallax?
Thanks for making this great mod more easily accessible.
That's a good question... but IIRC the parallax properties are not included, at least not in all of them :( I recall I talked about it with Arthmoor when I asked him about including them. He thought that it's better to have fixed meshes over having parallaxed meshes. IIRC he mention that it's not super easy to parallax them correctly, and it may be done the wrong way, that's probably why nobody ever did it for the newly fixed meshes :( It was only done for UOP for QTP3 AFAIK - probably by Arthmoor and/or USIP Team.
I don't know much more about it really. But I *think* that I might have only included those meshes that were newer than those of Bomret's pack - before releasing his pack, Bomret did took the USIP meshes that were made until that date.
However doubtful it may be, maybe somebody would parallax the rest of them at some point?
Fun fact: did you know that your username in Polish sound like: "Enemy of Souls"? :-)
I agree that having fixed meshes is probably more important than parallax, in most cases. I can understand why nobody has bothered updating the meshes for parallax if it's tricky to do it right. Most players probably don't spend that much time around SI content. Although, I recently checked out HESU, and it has some really good use of SI architecture in Cyrodiil. Anyway, I digress. Thanks again.
I think I've heard comments about my username before; apologies if it sounds scary, hehe. That wasn't my intention. It's just an auto-generated name from Bioware's Neverwinter Nights that stuck with me. :-)
I think the textures here are the same as are in Bomrets Texture Pack for SI, the difference being the meshes that have been fixed & optimized by the USIP team have been included instead of Bomret's originals. Though you'd have to check with CarlosS4444 to be certain. If that's the case, what you'd wind up with is your item #4 overwriting #1 in its entirety, making #1 unnecessary. I haven't been able to find this FCOM "Superpack", can you link me to it? Assuming they haven't done something funky with the file paths then you should be okay. Just remember that anything installed higher will be overwritten by anything installed lower. You may want to extract them to a temporary folder first, in the order in which you're going to install them, that way Windows will ask which ones you want to overwrite and you can see exactly which files are being overwritten & make sure that's what you want.
Would this work you think: *Fresh Install of Oblivion* *All with Wrye Bash* 1\\ Install Part 1-4 of 'Bomrets Texture Pack' 2\\ Install 'QTP3 Redimized' 3\\ Install 'FCOM Superpack' 4\\ Install 'Bomrets Texture Pack for Shivering Isles' (this mod :p) 5\\ Install 'Oblivion Reloaded'
Or would that just CTD Can I install the Original Bomret Textures, Then install these Textures over it? & just have it overwrite what it can from Bomret's?
Looks like I find myself needing to thank you again Roc! Bomret did a great job with his textures, but it must have taken a long time to cull through the necessary USIP meshes, order & include them. Thanks for your hard work!
In what way redemized? Redemized was the word invented to describe QTPIII (The name "Redimized" means Reduced and Optimized.) Like here: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/45666/?
These textures here need not to be reduced, like original QTP3 were. They were made by one of the authors of redemization of QTP3 - Bomret.

EDITED post quite a few times for clarity.

@Roc: Any thoughts?
*Fresh Install of Oblivion*
*All with Wrye Bash*
1\\ Install Part 1-4 of 'Bomrets Texture Pack'
2\\ Install 'QTP3 Redimized'
3\\ Install 'FCOM Superpack'
4\\ Install 'Bomrets Texture Pack for Shivering Isles' (this mod :p)
5\\ Install 'Oblivion Reloaded'
Or would that just CTD
Can I install the Original Bomret Textures,
Then install these Textures over it?
& just have it overwrite what it can from Bomret's?
Original Bomret Textures are included here (with his permission) so no need to install anything else for Shivering Isles' beauty.
For more elaborate response check out RavenMind's below.
