New Features of Patch 2

- Removed red glow effect from heavy armor: The annoying glow was a result of the new custom armor enchantments featured in Patch 1, which were used to bring more tactical depth to Oblivion's armor classes. Forgot to disable the glow in the process of working with much of the heavy armor. A simple fix long overdue..

- Renamed all standard spells: All spells now named after base spell effect and ranked by magnitude. This was done in order to prepare for a future expansion, which will focus on altering the magic system.

IMPORTANT: This mod's features may only be experienced with a new character.

Oblivion: Reforged is a mod for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion which seeks to introduce more tactical and balanced elements of gameplay. The ultimate objective of Reforged is not to alter the classic RPG design itself, merely to improve it.

The biggest characteristic of Reforged, however, is its emphasis on a skill-based progression system, in which classes do not exist, skills decay and attributes are far less important. Furthermore, skill-ups will no longer contribute towards the player character's leveling process (the player will instead automatically level up using a book in their inventory) nor will they endow attribute bonuses at the time of leveling. Racial bonuses/penalties/powers have all been removed in favor of promoting a race choice based on aesthetics and RP backgrounds rather than stats, and birthsigns have been modified, with passive bonuses removed and replaced by powers.

Together, these features work to help promote player freedom and playstyle experimentation, since many character build choices are now essentially reversible. Unlike the vanilla game, which forces the player into a particular style of play based on their choices made at the beginning of the game, Oblivion: Reforged allows you to continue reshaping your character once you've left the Imperial Sewers. Your decisions made in the tutorial dungeon will still carry consequences, but none of them will feel nearly as permanent as before. And with the auto-level book, you can advance at your own pace. Take some time to raise your skills, purchase the entire set of gear for your current level range, and accumulate some wealth. Then, when you're ready, ascend to the next level and raise the stakes with new gear and new monsters.
