Thinking about installing this... but I've already got Supreme Magicka, OOO, Midas Magick, and other weird mods that add spells. I'm a bit confused about this mod... what would happen if another mod adds a guy who sells spells? What happens to all the spell vendors in the first place? I assume you'd have to not be able to buy spells at all which means you'd have to go through and get rid of all the spell options on merchants. But most of all I hope this is like compatible with any mod that adds new spells... otherwise I don't want those spells shrouded in mystery, never attainable cuz no vendor. Also some mods add spells that are part of a quest (go to talk to x person to get spell, so you can unlock door to find ancient ruin of Lakakiki). Just thought I'd ask first because this mod is an extreme overhaul of the magic system and I foresee a lot of weird issues that could result from it, especially when using a heavily modded game.

Oh nevermind, it looks like this mod still lets you buy spells. I guess I'll try it out then. Awesome

After playing with this a bit I have to say it feels great, just like this is how the game could have been from the beginning.

I like the mod, and am using the Rarer Rare version. You should pack all the variations in a BAIN package format rather than having 5 downloads, where most people download the first file. Endorsed!

Superb idea, never have I seen a mod that makes so much sense, makes me feel like a scholar rather than being a consumer having to visit the local magic shop every time I need a new "trick", great job, many thanks =)

Thank you fcara1 for new files. I'm installing the 'even rarer' option and will let you know how it feels in game when I use it for a while. Kudos for your quick response to my whims

    Edit:
So far so good. No shower even if I've casted a good number of spells. Endorsed regardless of whether I keep it or not (I guess I will) because it's a very clean, practical, and interesting mod.

@ maczopikczo: really its hard to find the right spot... mage x warrior change the amount of spells cast a lot, tnx for helping me remember that! My last two chars were warriors... miss my demigod/inoccent mage fom 3 years ago...
Three new variations, hope it satisfy the needs.

First of all thank you Fcara1 for your effort to make Oblivion even more interesting. I have tried ASLES and I'm pretty much impressed with how smoothly it works, but the problem in my case is... it is just too smooth. I've been casting spells from my limited pool of favourite abracadabra like usual, but I seem to be learning a new spell every single time I do it, which is spoiling the experience for me, because I feel like cheating and becoming a semigod with no effort at all. At the moment I'm level 21, but pretty high on intelligence and in my chosen schools of magic (50-75). I've also earned a little more fame than infamy (if it has any influence on the gods' favours). Another thing is I'm using all kinds of mods and overhauls (including OOO, LAME, Fundament, etc.) which may influence ASLES (although you say they don't). In general I try to keep my progress quite slow and painful to enjoy the difficulty and realism of the game. I guess ASLES could be great (at least for me personally) if there was only a tiny chance (5% or less) that you could be granted a new spell instead of being showered with them. This way the sense of anticipation would be stronger, and learning a new spell would be received as a welcome reward for practicing. Do you think such an adjustment could be possible? Perhaps by the way of an .ini file or else?

@ PvtPirate: you right. And re-running the script to change the non chargeables into chargeable version remove the chargeables already in your possession... Only way safe to do it is making it a master and adding its spells to ASLES (as a substitute to main ASLES). Just the kind of thing I wish not to do.
But it cant be my final answear with no effort, mind you, give some time to contact grmblf (or anyone in hold of the his mods in his absence).

sounds just as amazing as the "chargeable spells" mod.
as i am using that mod, i know that once you've chosen to chose chargeable spells, you cant convert spells into chargeable variants anymore.
so the spells added by your mod would conflict, as they wouldnt be the chargeable versions.
i hope you make a version which adds the chargeable versions instead - for compatibility
nice work so far and thanks
