Original Path of The Skull Bearer

Upon playing the mod, I had come to be very interested with the story and quest line. However, I felt that the mod could use a little more oomph, more of a dark and nightmarish tone to it. Plus, there were some buggy areas that I wanted to fix. After tweaking a few things and speaking with the mod's creator, I am now putting out the update! After a couple months of work, even from the initial release, much has been changed, fixed, and added to this amazing story!

What this update does is mainly changes a lot of the sounds within the mod. The voice of the skull is much more demonic. Also, I used some of my own, custom-made music in the mod as well. This update also fixes bugs by either fixing script issues, or by making work-arounds.

I have polished and repaired the mod as well as extended it, making this mod provide the experience it was made to give!

For this mod, it is recommended to keep the music on. If you prefer to keep it off, do so, but turn it on during the "Ceremony". Some dialogue is within the music file.

Warning Against God Mode, God Weapons, etc.
=======
I myself use God Mode and weapons, just because I like the feel. However, as in every quest, it is best to leave God Mode off to keep the challenge. I strongly recommend NOT using God Weapons that have ridiculous amounts of damage, ESPECIALLY God Bows. High enchantments are fine, but high damage itself is very bad. Some creatures in the game are heavily scripted in some areas, and using a God Weapon on them has caused the game to crash on some occasion. So, if you're able to smuggle your God Weapons into the quest, please do not use them. Have some integrity :).

In short- no problems with God Mode, lots of problems with God Weapons.

Also, NEVER use the TCL command!! It WILL break the quest progression!!

Install
=======
1. After downloading and installing the original Path of The Skull Bearer mod, merge the provided data folder to your Oblivion data folder. Replace all files.
2. Go to Data/Textures/Armor/arynn2/skullbearer. In that folder there are some duplicates of textures. Delete "cuirass_silver" and "greaves_copper". If those files are not present, then don't worry.
3. Delete PathoftheSkullBearer.esp in your Data folder
4. Activate the mod upon opening Oblivion Launcher, POTSB.esm and POTSB.esp.


Uninstall
=========
1. Start Oblivion Launcher and deactivate POTSB.esm and POTSB.esp.
2. Delete the files/folders associated with the mod. Refer to the provided data folder to find the associated files.

2.01 - Mod is now in the form of an esm/esp pair, removing CTD issues.

2.0 - Overhaul version, adding new content.
Extended "The Skull's Prison" Quest, adding more areas and new creatures to fight as well as a harder end battle.
Grounded floating objects.
Removed Dutch and his related questline.
Removed Rat Bowel Cave's kill trap.
Added Cure Disease potions for sale at the Alchemy shop as well as removing the desk alchemy gear.
Added more clues to the questlines regarding Steelsnake.
Made the werewolf guardians have no inventory.
Extended the role of the Fryte Generals, making only one general with more appearances.
Repaired missing maze objects, made the weather associated less annoying.
Removed the Temple of Rightous Terror's merchant.
Added more dialouge segments to add immersion.
Removed the cause of the major FPS drop at the palace entrance.
Repaired dialague slots not using Silent Voice.
Replaced the Helm of the Skull Bearer to a capeless version.
Eyes of Vaermina and Arkved repaired.
Fixed the "Permanent Vaermina Eye affliction".
Fixed grammar and spelling errors.
Fixed the issue where combat music was not working during combat when within the overworld.


1.1 - Repaired magic scripts to make the mod playable.
1.0 - Initial release. Broken due to missing magic effects.

Known Bugs
=======
None in repeated playthroughs on my own system. CTD due to the mod itself has now been removed as of 2.01!! If you run into the disappearing landscape bug, try a different load order. I am aware of the "money doubling bug"; until I make a fix, consider it an extra reward :).

I am strongly protective of my custom music, so if you are going to use my music, I would greatly appreciate you asking my permisson for use first. All sound effects files are made by me. As for music, ALL FILES ARE MINE EXCEPT for the file names listed bellow--
