The Treasure Maps series in seven parts, a fantastic set of mods that feature original maps, puzzles, and the discovery of hidden treasure. My goal in re-releasing them is to:

1. Make them compatible with Unique Landscapes and Better Cities (this is done with an auto-detect script), and
2. Address an issue that received complaints in the original mods, that the maps were purchasable from booksellers. Now you must find them on your own in loot from various boss-level enemies (20% chance per boss defeated). There is a chance they can be found in boss loot on Bandits, Conjurers, Marauders, Necromancers, and Vampires who are looking for the treasures themselves. The MMM for OOO and FCOM editions include additional boss-level enemies (Amazon Wise Mother, Astral Lord and Mistress, Bandit Ringleader, Black Bow Ringleader, Blood Moon Conjurer, Blood Moon Necromancer, Conjurer Adept, Keeper of the Dead, Maurader Warlord, Necromancer Adept, Plane Summoner, Putrid Hand Master, Raider Captain, Ringleader, Vampire Matriarch and Patriarch, Vampire Elder Matriarch and Patriarch, and Warlord).

From the original ReadMes: "These mods add treasure maps to the game. The maps use riddles, puzzles, and pictures to give you clues to the location of the treasure. To find the treasure, follow the clues on the map. When you think you are in the right place, scan the ground. If you got it right, you will find buried treasure. The treasure is buried, so you can't see it and you probably won't stumble upon it without the clues from the map... The treasures include gold, weapons, potions, spells etc... All of the treasures are leveled, so players at any level will probably find something useful."

Treasure Maps (part 1): "In each of the 16 treasures is a piece of a very large 17th map. If you collect all the pieces, lay them on the ground and put them together like a jigsaw puzzle to create the final map."

Treasure Maps-Blood Ransom (part 2): "150 years ago, the most feared pirate was Captain Vladimir Fallen. His fleet of pirate ships ruled the seas of the Gold Coast. His most famous crime was the kidnapping of the heir of the Anvil royal house. Captain Vlad demanded the entire contents of the Anvil treasury in exchange for the prince's return. The ransom was paid, but the prince was killed in an escape attempt. Fearing the wrath of the Anvil and Imperial Navies, Captain Vlad ordered the treasures hidden on land. Captain Vlad was killed and his fleet was destroyed in a huge battle weeks later. The treasures were never found... There are also several unique items you can find. These include Captain Vlad's Shield, Axe, Mace, and Helm. I have also included a glow-in-the-dark tattoo."

Treasure Maps-Revenge of the Nords (part 3): "This mod let's you find the treasure of the famous Nord outlaw, Olaf... it also includes several unique items, such as Olaf's Axe, Crown, Spear and Shield, and a Nordic woad tattoo."

(in parts four and onward the treasure maps are found in specific places)

Treasure Maps-The Legend of Jauffre's Gold (part 4): Rumor has it that Jauffre is far wealthier than he claims. It seems that Jauffre was embarrassed by his family's wealth as he was rising through the ranks of the Blades. He claimed to have given away all of his worldly possessions when he became a monk. However, he actually hid away a large treasure in his family tomb. No one knows the location of the tomb and Jauffre has hidden the entrance... This mod is a linear quest. You can find the first treasure map on Jauffre's desk in Weynon Priory. It will lead you to the second map. The second map will lead you to a third. The third map will lead you Jauffre's family tomb...

Treasure Maps-Meridia's Womb (part 5): "At Meridia's shrine West of Skingrad... you will find a new altar nicknamed 'Meridia's Womb'. When you first activate the altar it will ask you five questions. You must answer all of the questions correctly or the altar will close to you forever. The questions are fairly simple but will test your general knowledge about Cyrodiil. Once you answer all of the questions the altar will give you the first four treasure maps. These first four treasures each include 3 new maps for a total of 16 treasure maps. Each of the treasures also includes a single Meridia's Token. You can return the tokens to Meridia's Womb to exchange them for magical rings. When you activate the altar now, it will ask you what kind of ring you want to make. There are eight different classes of rings you can choose from. Each ring also has four strengths; Basic, Standard, Fine, and Stellar. Basic requires one token, Standard two, Fine three, and Stellar four."

Treasure Maps-Captus Demus (part 6): "A unique phenomenon in Cyrodiil, the Captus Demus... ancient trees with human figures seemingly trapped within them. No one knows exactly what they are but they are very rare. To begin this mod, you must find the book 'The Captus Demus'... on the bottom shelf on a bookcase in the Anvil Mage's Guild... In the back of the book are nine illustrations that may point to Captus Demus locations. Follow the clues on the map to find the trees. Once you find a Captus Demus you can do two things with it. You can harvest the sap. The sap is a powerful potion that respawns after a few days. You can also carve a shield from the tree. This destroys the tree however, so you can't harvest sap from it anymore. Each Captus Demus in the game produces a unique sap/shield that has different attributes. I recommend harvesting the sap first, this will give you a clue as to the attribute of the shield. Each map in the book will lead you to a specific Ayelid ruin. Travel to the ruin and search the outskirts for the Captus Demus. You may also find buried treasure close to the trees, this is explained in the book."

Treasure Maps-Boethia's Burden (part 7): "At Boethia's Shrine in the Valus mountains, you will find a cave next to Boethia's statue. The cave is actually Boethia's tomb. It contains Boethia's coffin as well as Boethia's commandments. Around the tomb you will find ten treasure maps. Each map is below a blank stone tablet. Follow the clues on the maps to find the treasures. Each treasure has a sacred jar containing one of Boethia's body parts. Return the body parts to the tomb and activate the blank stone tablet above the map. When you restore the body parts, Boethia's commandments become visible in the blank tablets. The commandments are written in an ancient language. If you are able to decipher the code, you'll get a few laughs and possibly learn the location of the key to Boethia's sarcophagus. The maps range in difficulty from easy to hard. You don't have to find all the treasures to crack the code, but the more commandments you reveal, the easier it is."*

Installation: The directory is setup as a BAIN installation. Choose the '00 Core Files' folder and one '01...' folder corresponding to your installation. Using Wrye Bash is a requirement, import {Inventory} for the esp (it is already tagged).

Compatibility and Known Issues:
1. The boss loot compilation (first three parts of the series) add the treasure map leveled list directly to boss inventories and should be bashed in Wrye Bash with the {Invent} tag.
2. You can find duplicates of all the maps, they are not unique.
3. In one or two instances Unique Landscapes modifies the terrain such that the map will not accurately present the landmarks. Please see the spoilers file for help with all locations.
4. There is a compatibility patch for the original Captus Demus and UL Rolling Hills. Do not use this patch with the UL edition of Captus Demus. There are two other UL conflicts that this version of the mod addresses but the patch does not.
*5. Boethia's Burden has some grammar problems with the commandments; the spoiler file has the corrections for the riddles (thank you WalkerInShadows).
