About this mod

GuruSR's "You Are What U Wear!" Lets you live the "life" of some of the various evil and good people in Oblivion.

Permissions and credits
GuruSR's "You Are What U Wear!"

This mod does the following:

Lets you "live" in the shoes of the following:

. Necromancer
. Mythic Dawn Assassin
. Imperial Watch
. Imperial Palace Watch
. Imperial Legion Battlemage
. Anvil Guard
. Bravil Guard
. Bruma Guard
. Cheydinal Guard
. Chorrol Guard
. Leyawiin Guard
. Skingrad Guard

While you're "Disguised" as one of these, your player name will reflect your "Disguise". Others will see you as such and will act accordingly. If you're a Necromancer or Mythic Dawn Assassin, don't expect to go into town (umm, you're evil, think about it). In combat, others of your "Disguise" will assist you as if you were really one of them.

Requirements:

Skyrim 1.0 [Kidding]
Oblivion [Latest build/Patch, unofficial bug fixes optional *untested*]
OBSE [Version 20 or higher]

Installation:

Place YAWUW.esp into your Oblivion Data folder and Activate.

Uninstallation:

WHAT? You want to? Alright... Fine... Just make sure you save your games with the "Disguise" ended (returns you to normal), then once thats happened, and saved, you can safely uncheck the mod.

"Disguises":

These are useful, at times, to mimick some of the game's evil and any of the game's city guards. Though to obtain AND maintain a "Disguise", you must aquire and wear the items that will activate/maintain it.

They are below:

Necromancer:
.Wear Necromancer Robes

Mythic Dawn Assassin
.Wear Mythic Dawn Robes (you see a lot of them during the tutorial, just don't do it there, the guards WILL kill you for it).
.Wear Mythic Dawn Assassin bound armor and weapon (when you're "Disguised" as a Mythic Dawn Assassin).

Imperial Watch:
.Wear Legion Boots
.Wear Legion Cuirass
.Wear Legion Gauntlets
.Wear Legion Greaves
.Wear Legion Helmet (For females, only needed for activation of "Disguise", don't need to wear it to maintain.)

Imperial Palace Watch:
.Wear Imperial Watch Boots
.Wear Imperial Watch Cuirass
.Wear Imperial Watch Gauntlets
.Wear Imperial Watch Greaves
.Wear Imperial Watch Helmet (For females, only needed for activation of "Disguise", don't need to wear it to maintain.)

Imperial Legion Battlemage
.Wear Legion Boots
.Wear Legion Cuirass
.Wear Legion Gauntlets
.Wear Legion Greaves
.Wear Mage Hood

Anvil Guard
.Wear Anvil Cuirass
.Wear Guard Helmet (For females, only needed for activation of "Disguise", don't need to wear it to maintain.)

Bravil Guard
.Wear Bravil Cuirass
.Wear Guard Helmet (For females, only needed for activation of "Disguise", don't need to wear it to maintain.)

Bruma Guard
.Wear Bruma Cuirass
.Wear Guard Helmet (For females, only needed for activation of "Disguise", don't need to wear it to maintain.)

Cheydinhal Guard
.Wear Cheydinhal Cuirass
.Wear Guard Helmet (For females, only needed for activation of "Disguise", don't need to wear it to maintain.)

Chorrol Guard
.Wear Chorrol Cuirass
.Wear Guard Helmet (For females, only needed for activation of "Disguise", don't need to wear it to maintain.)

Leyawiin Guard
.Wear Leyawiin Cuirass
.Wear Guard Helmet (For females, only needed for activation of "Disguise", don't need to wear it to maintain.)

Skingrad Guard
.Wear Skingrad Cuirass
.Wear Guard Helmet (For females, only needed for activation of "Disguise", don't need to wear it to maintain.)

Notes on "Disguises":

. Anytime a "Disguise" is in use, you're able to go places that person normally can go, and use things they can use.
. A "Disguise" will end (returning you to normal) 1 FULL day after you stopped wearing the required items to maintain the "Disguise".
. Once a "Disguise" has ended, you cannot start another one for 2 HOURS.
. "Disguises" cannot be cross-exchanged mid-use.
. Mythic Dawn Assassins will always bound armor in battle, it's how they work, if you put your weapon away mid-combat, you'll resummon it automatically.
. The Mythic Dawn Assassin's armor binding constitutes as maintaining the "Disguise", so avoid fighting for a full day to let it end (or sleep 24 hours).
. Mythic Dawn Assassins are welcome at the compound, while there, the book, the prisoner and both drop gates aren't present.
. "Dagon Shrine" quest should either be completed or not go past the Shrine location, otherwise Mythic Dawn Assassins will not be recognized as maintaining that "Disguise".
. Necromancers/Mythic Dawn Assassins are evil (DUH) and people who dislike them will dislike you the same way and you cannot Yield to anyone during combat.
. 2 small exit door scripts in the Arrius Caverns were altered to not lock/quest advance if you're using the Mythic Dawn Assassin "Disguise".
. 1 small fix to the ArcaneUGate Script so Imperial Mages can get into their barracks to sleep!
. 1 small fix to dialog, 3 small quest script fixes in TG11Heist (Thieves' Guild Quest 11) where Moth dialog will mess up that quest if not started!
. GenericImperial, NQDGuard and ImperialLegionDialogue quest topics and conversations edited so player "Disguised" as a guard, gets talked to like one.
. While "Disguised", you'll ONLY belong to the factions of that "Disguise", no others (PlayerFaction will be GONE, Companion users beware).
. "Disguises" do not record kills, assaults, bounties, etc, (they'll all be zeros). Killing will not incite the Dark Brotherhood quest.
. All main quest elements stop while a "Disguise" is in place.

"Disguise" Pros & Cons

Necromancer:

Pros:
. Level based Magicka regeneration.
. Level * 75 Magicka Fortification.
. Staffs don't break or run out of charge when using.
. Automatically summon undead monsters in or out of combat (good for Conjuration/Illusion character leveling)
. Have access to a level 80 merchant in Lost Boy Caverns, who sells/buys anything you need/want.
. Have access to an Evil Vortex for storing all your stuff, located near the Dark Fissure sleeping area.
. Have access to an Undead Revival spell to revive undeads (uses 1 Black Soul Gem with Grand Soul)! Party time!
. Access to an Undead Gateway in Dark Fissure, using (Common +) filled Soul Gems, you can empty them out into it and monsters will spawn from the Gateway. Gems are emptied in this Gateway, but not destroyed.

Cons:
. Even with Magicka regeneration, you could run out mid-battle, let your undeads help you more.
. Don't go near anyone who isn't a Necromancer, you'll end up having to kill them (or knock them out).
. Charged weapons other than staffs don't recharge automatically.

Mythic Dawn Assassin:

Pros:
. Level based Magicka regeneration.
. Level * 75 Magicka Fortification.
. Your weapon and armor are provided for you, you can only use those.
. Automatic creature summon and shield whenever you have your weapon out.
. Have access to a level 80 merchant in the Storage Room in Lake Arrius Caverns, who buys and sells only items specific to you.
. You can easily go in and out of Oblivion gates and nobody will bother you, just please, don't play with the Sigil Stones.
. Have access to an Evil Vortex for storing all your stuff, located inside the Lake Arrius Caverns Shrine area.
. Access to an Daedra Gateway in Lake Arrius Caverns, using (Common +) filled Soul Gems, you can empty them out into it and monsters will spawn from the Gateway. Gems are emptied in this Gateway, but not destroyed.

Cons:
. Even with Magicka regeneration, you could run out mid-battle, let your daedra summons help you more.
. Armor can be a bit weak against some monsters (Ogres for instance). Keep lots of health potions around or have a good health restore spell.
. Don't go near anyone who isn't a Mythic Dawn member, you'll end up having to kill them (or knock them out).

Imperial Watches (All of them):

Pros:
. Able to laze around with other guards (yeah, such is life).
. NOT be called "Citizen" by guards (that is SO annoying).
. IC Stables has 2 (yes, two) Bay Horses for use by the guards of Imperial City. (I didn't do this, Bethesda did.)
. Waypoints for various gods will ALWAYS give you a daily refreshing bathe of magical revival. (I didn't do this, Bethesda did.)
. Palace Watch can actually go through the entire Palace area and are the only guards able to.
. Guards can yield during battles (whether the other person wants to or not, no idea).
. Sometimes people run to you when being chased, and it's so frustrating when they bugger off and you have to figure out WHERE they went!
. You'll find a "Guard Trunk" available to you, where you're expected to sleep (Imperial Watch need to find the Guard House, it's in there for you).

Cons:
. Nothing ever happens... There's the occasional thief stealing food in a tavern, but you can't arrest the person for it. Penalty for theft is death.
. Patrols are BORING (if you go with the other guards that is, wow, those Bay Horses are SLOW).
. You have to maintain your armor and weaponry on a 0g salary. Cheap city council buggers.

City Related Guards (All of them):

Pros:
. See above for most of these, those that don't apply are those items pertaining to IC Stables and the Palace.
. Some cities let you sleep in the castle (woo hoo, nookie-nookie time with the upper-crust)!
. You'll find a "Guard Trunk" available to you, where you're expected to sleep.

Cons:
. Well, aside from the Imperial Watches, there's no boring Patrols and there's no thief stealing food, so figure it out there.

Compatibility Issues:

This mod does very little in changes to anything major (most of the scripts/quest dialogue that are touched are of non-quest related). Should there be any compatibility issue, be sure to place this mod at the bottom of your load order to see if the problem vanishes. Some Vampire mods (Unholy Darkness and others using the KI Vampire code) are "harsh" acting and can cause grief if the character is infected during a "Disguise", avoid using them with this mod if you run into troubles.

Final Words:

I thought it'd be fun to be able to play a real "Bad" character, but also the complete opposite (be the savior for once too). My personal favorite is Necromancer (because there's so many places you can go for <sarcasm>stimulating</sarcasm> conversation), plus a decent staff and you're a powerhouse without being "uber" or overpowered. That and I've seen up to 3 different summons going at once and they basically trashed anything that got in our way, plus the summons last longer than those in Mythic Dawn. But, Mythic Dawn has no worries about armor, has summons, has shield spells and has a nice hide-away up north where there's nobody around to annoy you, where as most of the Necromancer locations are not far from the masses.

This will be my last OBSE mod, I'm retiring OBSE from my mod line up, as I've found personally, that while it offers a lot of possibilities, not everyone out there actually knows that those possibilities can often come with a price (of stability). This mod won't cause any CTDs, if you're using weOCPS, remove it before using this mod, otherwise your other mods will cause dirty saves (this mod will not cause dirt saves).
