Description
===========
Have you ever downloaded a nice looking armor, and thought to yourself, great, but I needed heavy armor? Or you got distracted by your sexy buns for a second and that minotaur tore your new armor to shreds with one hit of its horn? Ever wanted to equip a cloak on your khajiit, but not lose the tail? Do you dread the idea of going into the toolset to alter these things yourself? Fret no more, the equipment model replacer can do it all for you in game. You think that bikini shouldn't have daedric armor stats? Merge it with a mage robe to turn it into clothing. Silly modder accidentally classed an axe as a blade? Easily fixed. Just handed in a sexy blade to a certain daedric prince and got a butt-ugly mask in return? Find a wig, merge the two, and at least have a use for it.

Location
========
Upon activation of the mod, three items will be added to your inventory. Two pots for the source items, and an activator to start the process. Drop them somewhere in order to use them. In version 1.1, equipment molds have been added. These are various armor and clothing objects that come in almost any commonly used slot configuration. They have no models assigned to them yet and are meant to be merged with your desired armor before use. You can find them in the imperial prison district, on top of the armory. See the screenshots for more details. A box with replacement conversion equipment is also in the same location, in case you ever misplace them. All of these boxes respawn.

Details
=======
This mod is actually an upgraded version of a mod called Panzer Kleidung (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12996). I had been using that mod for a while to help dress companions properly, as well as to make some of the statistically challenged armors more usable. However, I found that there were some things it could not do, and also, new items would often lose their enchantment over time. So I set out to find the cause of that bug, and fixed it. Then I added some functionality I felt was missing, like swapping amulets for tails or blunt for blade. Finally I included a cheat mode to protect important or unique items. And then I tried to come up with a name that would make it easier to find for most people, as Panzer Kleidung wasn't exactly among my search terms when I first tried to find it.

To begin the process, you will need two items. One which has the model that you want your new armor to look like. The other provides the stats and enchantment. Both items must have the same slot assignment, with a few exceptions. That means that if one of the source items covers your upper and lowerbody, the other must as well. It's best not to place multiple items into the pot, so as not to confuse the system or lose items.
The exceptions are as follows:
-One handed swords can be merged into one handed blunt weapons and vice versa
-Two handed swords can be merged into two handed axes or hammers and vice versa
-Amulets, Tails and Rings can be swapped for one another. Keep in mind that this fails often for rings, making them invisible, so be careful with those.

When the items are placed, simply activate the converter activator and if you placed valid items, a new item will be added to your inventory. If cheat mode is not activated, the source items are destroyed upon completion of the new item, to preserve balance. If you activate the pots while in sneak mode, a short menu comes up. This allows you to activate cheat mode for that pot, open the pot or pick it up. Cheat mode ensures that the item in that source pot is not destroyed. You can set this for both pots individually.

Install
=======
1. Extract the files to a temporary location.
2. Examine the folder structure and make corrections where necessary.
3. Copy files to (install folder)\Oblivion\Data\
4. Start Oblivion Launcher, click 'Data Files', place a checkmark beside the EquipmentConverter.esp file(s).

Uninstall
=========
1. Start Oblivion Launcher, click Data Files, uncheck the EquipmentConvertor.esp file.
2. Delete the file.
3. Delete the Equipment Convertor folder in data\meshes
4. Delete the Equipment Convertor folder in data\textures\menus\icons

Upgrade
=======
If you have the original Panzer Kleidung mod, this mod will not interfere with that, as I rewrote it from scratch. It does however do the same thing slightly better, so no reason to keep both. To upgrade to version 1.1 just overwrite the esp and install the new meshes and icons for the molds.

Incompatibility
===============
None that I'm aware of.

Known Issues or Bugs
====================
I've used these scripts for quite a while, but I have them merged with a ton of armor mods into a single armory file. That one also comes with pre-made armor molds, which have no model, but do have good stats to merge with any model. They come in about all slot configurations I ran accross, using glass and daedric stats. Since I couldn't release that version (would take me 5 years to contact all the creators of the armors, lol) I made a separate version. I'm still using my own and haven't tested this copy for very long. If you find any bugs, let me know.

In many cases, when trying to merge a different item such as a cloak or circlet with a ring, the model information seems to be lost and an invisible item is created. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think it may have to do with the method in which rings are attached to the body, which is different from most other equipment. If you're going to try this, save beforehand or use the cheat mode to preserve the base items. This only happens with rings, other items will work fine.

Scripts on items are copied over as well, but unlike enchantments, they are not duplicated into your saved game. This means that over time, such a scripted item may lose its script. This will happen if the mod the original item came from changed places in your load order. I have not tested this, but am pretty sure it will happen, as it used to do that with enchantments.

I had never fed it any scripted items until I got VipCxj's Real High Heels system the other day, and found out I could use my convertor pots to fix all those broken shoes I downloaded without ever touching Tes4Edit. I simply merge a pair of shoes that make my toes stick in the floor with a working pair of Real High Heels, and voila, I can adjust them with the system. But as explained above, the procedure may have to be repeated if the script is lost. If the shoes use the enchantment version of the RHH script, it will stich indefinitely though, but you can't use any other enchantment on the shoes.

Finally a minor bloat warning.
The system uses cloneform to make the new objects, as well as any enchantment that needs cloning (if it's not from Oblivion.esm, enchantment station, or a previously merged item). This ensures that the base-object of your new item is saved in your savegame, and keeps its stats, model and enchantment. This happens once every time you use the pot and should not cause serious trouble unless you go mad with it and clone items hundreds of times using cheat mode.
