For some reason, I can make the Ale and the Bucket of Grape Juice, but I leave it in the Aging Barrel for DAYS and it's still there, unchanged when I come back...help?
Looking back at the way I have it, it will take one week for grape juice and a day or two for the ale (you may want to try a full week for the ale if you don't get anything right away). But you will need to add a blackberry and a tobacco leaf for the wine when you press it, and a pumpkin and one unit of rice for the beer when you age it. There are brewing instructions in the underground library that details this in case you have not found it. If it still doesn't work, then it is possible that you have a mod that messes with the day of the week, which might cause a conflict. It may also help me to troubleshoot whats going wrong if you can give me a full account of every step you perform when making the booze, including how and where you wait to pass the time.
Allright, I follow the instructions from the book: for the wine, I add the 16 units of grapes, plus the blackberry and tobacco leaf, and put it in the press. It succeeds, and I get the buckets of grape juice. Same for the beer: I add the 16 units of wheat, and add the pumpkin and the rice, and put it in the brewer thing. It also succeeds, and I get the ale. My problem is the part where you put it to ferment in the big keg. I think three weeks have already passed (the last time I checked it, it was before a quest that I had to wait three weeks exactly for finishing it; I got a quest update telling me so) It's still in the big keg as just "buckets of grape juice" and the same ale I produced previously (however, I am not putting them both in the keg at the same time, in case that may be the problem, but to no avail)
A couple of other clarification questions would be: Are you using exactly 16 buckets of grape juice? Have you gone back to previous saves and tried to start from the beginning? Are you waiting using the default wait system or are you using the console or a mod to fast forward time? Do you have any mods, that you are aware of, that would manipulate the days of the week or the game's time system in anyway?
If nothing up above rings any bells, I would recommend trying to make the wine with the only mod running being mine, and see if it works. If that doesn't do it, then start a new game with a test character, with the only mod active being mine. Run the character through the quest, and then make the wine as written in that book in the study, being sure to use the game's built in wait system. Let me know if it works or fails and we can work forward from there.
Hmm. He's not necessarily hard to find. If I recall I placed him right on the Orange Road. If you are unable to find him, then more than likely he was potentially killed by something else and got lost somewhere. That's very rare, but it could potentially happen. One fix for this would be to disable the mod, save your game, and then reload it. If this still does not produce Ales, then another work around for you would be to type out the following command in the console: player.additem 0200C00D 1
This command should add the note to your inventory and then you just need to take it to Castle Cheydinhal and find the count's assistant to continue with the quest. I hope that helps you.
I have added a No Low Level Processing flag to all the bodies and all bandits inside for the performance reason and PC Level Offset flag to all bandits (otherwise they are all very easy because they are on level 1 Calc Min). I could send it to you if you want.

Please tell me where I can find Ales' body so I can proceed.
