A brief note. In humble (and late) celebration of the TES V announcement, i've decided to put a mod that I made a while back and never released - largely due to the majority of my time being consumed by my ever hungry Undergraduate Degree - in the public domain. As such, whilst I have put some finishing touches on it, it hasn't really been tested by exterior modders (though I've tested it extensively myself, on several machines). Depending on the success and demand, I've got a few others that I can polish up and release (which I may do in due course regardless:
-The Vertueux - released simultaneously http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36087
-Knight's Abode - "" "" - a manor with purchasable knights, walls, church, armoury etc
-Ilium - Needs a few touches, but essentially finished - a mod based on the events at Troy in which the player takes the part of Diomedes.
-A general utilisation mod - "" "" - new textures/meshes, nice armour/weapons etc
-Into the Void - Incomplete; needs a lot of work - A very extensive mod (includes new Sithis world/long Quest-line/Entire Villages of NPC's etc - you get the picture) in which the player takes part in a long dark quest centred around Sithis and his realm - I'd really only put the work into this if there's a massive popular demand (which is, frankly, unlikely)
---------------The Fall of Smaug---------------
After receiving a mysterious note you are beckoned into a compelling quest to vanquish a powerful and dangerous foe, on behalf of an anonymous enigmatic stranger...
CONTENT
This mod adds several things to the game:
*4 different and interesting quests with a coherent storyline leading to a "boss-fight" *Plenty of new textures, including armour, robes, hoods, a staff etc *Several new and interesting NPC's *New places, e.g. Fire-breath cave *Lots of functioning dialogue
COMPATIBILITY
Problem with Open Cities - one of the characters is in the 'old world' - I'll sort this out for next release. Thanks to Hanaisse for pointing this out.
INSTALLATION
Simply extract the files from 'The Fall of Smaug.7z' onto your hard drive. Then move the 'Data' folder into your 'Oblivion' folder and click 'Merge'. Alternatively, move the 'Meshes', 'Textures' and 'Sound' folders, along with 'The Fall of Smaug.esp' into your 'Data' folder in your Oblivion directory.
UNINSTALLATION
Delete (or move) The Fall of Smaug.esp file from your Oblivion\Data directory. To deactivate without deleting, uncheck 'The Fall of Smaug' in the 'Data Files' pop-up accessed via your Oblivion start-up dialog.
