The Fake HDR lighting mod by timeslip is utterly great, but has limitations. One of these is that the sun tends to get \'washed\' out by the brightness-adaptation mechanism within the plugin.
Fixing this by altering the FakeHDR effect is possible, but would cause the overall effect of the plugin to deteriorate.

Instead, i decided to replace the default Sun/Sunglare textures with some modified ones. The dulling effect still happens, but the more intense shaders here tend to mask the problem.
The .esp alters climate settings so that Oblivion loads the sun and sunglarenonhdr textures from 'Data/textures/Sky/Timeslip_fakeHDR/' instead of 'Data/textures/Sky/'
As such, the mod won't overwrite any custom sun textures you have, but it may conflict with mods that alter/add climate settings.
If the worst comes to the worst, just place the two sun textures into 'Data/textures/Sky/' and deactivate my .esp, or replace the sun textures of your preffered climate altering mod.
