I've endorsed this because I''m just so pleased to be reminded of all those hours I spent on the original. Ah, to be eaten by a grue again after all this time...
But - be warned, this really needs mod cleaning. It's full of dirty and wild edits (the latter affecting cells it should not be touching, the CS's fault, but they do need to be removed).
I just Downloaded this and cant wait to try it out!!! I was a infocom nut case back in the day and found this mod by chance....WHAT A GREAT DAY!!!! I even posted a comic afew months ago about my oblivion Char's having the wrong map to find treasure,it was the map from Zork!!! Will be back to endorse....Great Idea, keep going on this and maybe do the other 2? LOL
Sir, you deserve some kudos. This mod is an excellent idea, and I'm tickled pink to see it so far along in the development process. You even put Grues in! Fantastic! Keep up the good work!
@ManManMan: Thank you for the suggestion! I'll definitely try to incorporate this into the next release, and if I run into any problems I'll let you know
Hi, I was playing Zork the other day and I remembered. You know the place where you tie the rope to the edge and drop down? I know how to script this (if you want to add this to the game, it would be awesome): begin onactivate if getitemcount (the rope) 1 (the rope as an activator).enable ; have the rope initially disabled endif end I could help you with it if you wanted. I love your mod! Thanks
My pleasure, Andrew. Glad I could help you out. I understand the Grue issue now. I was using a light ring, NOT a torch. Gotcha.
Btw here is the link for loreless creatures, a modder's resource: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9866. That one has the Nightmare troll, a big, ugly, bruise-purple troll with only two eyes and horns. (uses the troll skeleton but looks dramatically different, which should make the whole "Grue" thing more immersive. Hope it helps out.)
Glad to see you are still working on things. Best of luck. I look forward to the finished version!
Thank you for the detailed report. It is unfortunate that Zork conflicts with UL; I used to use them but had disabled them for a while. I'll see what I can do to make it UL friendly in the next update. I am very excited to check out the nightmare troll. As for the Grue disappearing, the stats for all the monsters were set for testing purposes. What is happening is that you are killing the Grue in one fell swoop and sending it back to it's reference container, only to have it be summoned again. Grues will keep coming until you equip what the game recognizes as a torch.
I'll keep you posted on a time frame for the next update. The rest of this month is very hectic for me as I'm currently updating my portfolio website and finals here at the university. Thanks again for the report
