Dark Argonians, etc. by Nernie
September-07-09, Ver. 1

This mod adds several new playable sub-races, as well as new npcs, merchants, villages, and camps. Its emphasis is mainly on the "Shadoweir Argonians" (I made the mod in the first place, because I wanted to play a grey female Argonian, with more thief-appropriate stats).

Note: This is an old project of mine, which I never fully completed (only the Argonians and the Elves are represented in-game, and I hoped to do more with the other races as well.) At some point in the future I may pick it up again, but it should work just fine as-is, and I hope you enjoy what's there for now.

Descriptions of the new races:

Shadoweir Argonians: The Shadoweir Argonians are a seldom-encountered sub-race of Argonian, who dwell deep in the swamps and estuaries of Black Marsh. They are naturally shy, with a preference for solitude which makes them ideal as thieves and hunters.

Grey Elves: The Grey Elves are a nomadic gypsy race, many of whom spend their entire lives outside of their native province of Valenwood. They are a deft and hardy people, well suited to life on the road, and often survive by plying their trade as merchants and tinkerers.

Rustskin Orcs: The Rustskin Orcs are a hardy, mountain-dwelling people, who pride themselves on their self-sufficiency. Though they largely lack in magical abilities, they have a druidic connection with the land, and a strong affinity with other predators of the wilderness.

Plague-scarred Dark Elves: These Dark Elves are victims of what is referred to in Morrowind as the Ashdeath Plague. It weakens the body, and scars the face with a sickly white pallor, but it also lends keen magical ability to those inflicted. Dunmer who survive to be plague-scarred are social outcasts for the remainder of their lives.

Other additions:

There's a new village, Lantern, beside Shattered Scales Cave, on the East side of the map. This is a settlement of Shadoweir Argonians. (additionally, on the top level of Shattered Scales Cave, the monsters have been replaced by low-level crabs. In the lower level of the dungeon, there is a small addition as well).

Marsh Punk Camp and Garnet Camp have been converted to small, gypsyish Grey Elf settlements. Mortal Camp has been renamed "Treelight", and has been similarly refurbished, with a merchant who sells a variety of (mostly useless) sundry goods (kettles, pans, bread, etc.).

I've added two travelling tinkers (Grey Elves), who travel from city to city, camping outside the gates and selling their wares. Their schedules are rather erratic in practice, but you should see them from time to time (for reasons I never managed to work out, they'll only sell you things once they're camped, and if you catch them while travelling, then their goods won't be available).

The new material in this mod includes many new textures and items, to make the added races and cultures as subtly unique as possible.

Installation: Unzip, and place the esm file, and the meshes and textures folders, in your Oblivion/Data folder. Overwrite any folders or files, if prompted.

Please let me know if you encounter any bugs. Many thanks, and I hope you enjoy the mod.
