    so bad  for no fast travel
    You have to install Oblivion heightmap in order to take a ship to the Niben it seems, by going around Tamriel. Only way you can take a ship there

    Does this mod still require COBL to run?

      I know I had it working without COBL but don't remember if I pulled any tricks. It's probably optional for certain interiors. Look at the pics and pick a ship with just the basics.

    this might be fun except there is no guide to tell me how to use the ships so its unplayable

    Here's a bit of ilk...after all these years of playing Oblivion and having long installed this mod and sailing about, suddenly the Curious Clara leaves its sails behind whenever I try and move it. What happened? One thought...I long have used the merged Unique Landscapes mod and only recently incorporated the compatibility patch for Side's Sailing Ships. Does anyone have experience with this and could something in that patch be affecting the main mod? Just thought I'd ask before disabling it and going through the whole rebuild of the bash patch, etc. A big thank you to anyone who can help.

      I don't know what a "whole rebuild of the bash patch" is. Can't you just uncheck this new patch in the Oblivion launcher and see what happens?

      Do you have a save game you can go back to where the sails are working? If you can do that you can look at the quest variables with the console and compare where it is working and not. Those variables can be changed manually. In the console type "SQV questName". Type SQT to get the quest name.

      Discovered the problem...wasn't Side's Sailing Ships, but the patch that was created for Unique Landscapes mod. Got the problem solved, however...Despite having this mod installed for years, I never really did much sailing the ships. Only now am I into it and discovering how buggy some of them are. The Viking Longship, Gutlind REALLY has issues...disappearing in mid-sail and causing the game to freeze with no resolution but to control-alt-delete out - NOT a CTD, mind you, but a game freeze where you still hear all the sound FX, but a frozen screen! Have double-checked everything concerning installation, COBL, etc., and have no idea what the problem is as there are no apparent conflicts with any other mod.

      EDIT: I'm left to wonder if there isn't in fact a conflict after all involving either Stutter Remover or Oblivion Reloaded 6.5.0...just a thought.

    Hey everybody :) Can anybody explain "Where the .ini goes"?
    I get the repeating message saying that is missing and "Read the readme" (that message does not give any explaination). I've read that a number of times by now all it says is to 
    "copy the contents of this archive to your data folder and overwrite or skip existing files. (i use unchanged versions of common resources, no vanilla game files get overwritten.)".
    I did that, nothing. Not wanting to go further and mess anything up I thought to ask here if anybody will respond. I noticed that same question has been asked before but never found an answer to that one question.
    I really want this mod to work so hopefully, somebody will respond :).

    I got the flashing msg. to stop (added the INI File W/ config setting text) however now going outside and/or looking at the map the game immediatly CTD's.

    I got the Mod working. The conflict was with "Bedrolls Anyone" (Imagine that). I disabled batchs of mods at a time leaving this one active until the game ran then narrowed that batch by activating mods 1 by 1 until the game crashed, That's the one. Now the Mod works and my ship is great :).

      Your "Ini" goes in your Data... "Ini" folder

    It's been asked a few times and I didn't see anyone answer, so in case anyone wants to know where to hire mates, from the readme:

    in some taverns you can hire mates that are able to navigate the ship to a known harbor. (waterfront: bloated float, anvil: flowing bowl, leyawiin: five claws lodge, bravil: lonely suitor lodge)

    Just to note there is a minor conflict between this and Reclaim Sancre Tor, which adds a village called "Cape Town" right next to it. they practically don't conflict, but the edge of the dock merges with the last dock/Ayleid platform a bit to where it's noticeable.

      You should launch up the Construction Set and fix this yourself. It is EXTREMELY easy and way easier than it looks. Here's a short guide:
      <~ 1.) Launch Construction Set.
      <~ 2.) Load both "Side's Sailing Ships" and "Reclaiming Sacre Tor", with no Active File.
      <~ 3.) In the Cell View, look under Tamriel for the outdoor location where the ships are sold for Side's Sailing Ships. This might take a bit to find it. Go to Anvil and move south-southeast until you find it.
      <~ 4.) Once you're there, just start moving objects! Move whatever is "conflicting" out of the way.
      <~ 5.) Post that sh*t on the Nexus!

    anyone know how to get this mod working everytime i get near any ship i buy the game freezes i cant figure out why

      I can't say what is your problem but I can say it's working perfect for me. I just tried it. I bought the Gurang. I have only a few simple mods installed and I'm using only the basic Side's Sailing Ships.esp. Since it freezes when you get near maybe it's missing a mesh or texture although that doesn't normally cause a freeze in my experience. Maybe you have the (COBL) esp installed and you don't have COBL. Keep trying. This is an incredible piece of work. I put everything into a BSA file with BsaCommander and it all looks perfect so far.

    I don't get the keys once I've bought the deeds, plus the ships don't absolutely move in any way .... Can I get some help ?
