By default, merchants are given an arbitrary maximum amount of gold that they will pay for an item. Even if that shiny suit of armor is worth 5,000 gold, most merchants won't give you more than 1,200 for it.

This mod changes that maximum barter gold amount based on your character's Mercantile skill level. A merchant's maximum barter gold will increase by 85 for each point you have in the Mercantile skill.

For example, if you take Mercantile as a major skill, it will start out at 25 for most races. At this skill level, merchants will buy items for up to 2,125 gold. The maximum possible barter gold with this mod is 9,500, including the Expert and Master level perks for the Mercantile skill. Thus investing time and effort in improving your Mercantile skill suddenly becomes worthwhile, and you don't suffer that pang of guilt you get when you sell that shiny armor for one-tenth its true value.

[Version History]

v1.0.3 - Removed the CalcBarterGold script from some test NPCs and those that were marked as dead. Obviously they aren't going to be selling much.

Fixed a bug with the Arcane University NPC Delmar. I had mistakenly removed his default script, which handles completion of the first Arcane University quest.

Added a "Ledger of Accounts" to the Office of Imperial Commerce. You can use this to reset all of the merchants to their default barter gold amounts. See the [Uninstallation] section of the readme for details.

v1.0.2 - Fixed some merchants that I overlooked in the first release and updated merchants that already had scripts to work with this mod as well. Unless I have overlooked something, or there are merchants in the game with classes other than "Merch*", all merchants should now use the modified barter gold values.

v1.0.1 - Initial release

v1.0.0 - This was busted and totally didn't work, so it was summarily shot and buried.
