About this mod

This mod adds about eighty unique spells to Oblivion, a brand-new community of magicians similar to the arcane university, and several additional secrets, such as retextured robes for every magic school.

OVERVIEW
This mod was an attempt to create an academy of magic for your character to learn the arcane arts by attending classes, reading books, and completing assignments (kind of like college but without the hangover). Unfortunately, this mod never achieved that. Instead, there are around 80 new spells to play with as well as a small town similar to the Arcane University. I also retextured quite a few meshes, which explains for the large filesize (sorry dial-up users). New spells can be learned via spellbook (like the DLC one) and these have been substituted into the leveled lists. The academy is located at the junction between the Yellow road and the circular road around the Imperial City. (check the photos for map)

*NEW* in version 1.05

*NEW* in version 1.04
Fixed a few scripting errors. Nothing major. Added error messageboxes to the necromancy spells and Wrath of Oblivion so people might understand that you need those books in your inventory to cast.

THE ACADEMY

The Academy is a collection of students, instructors, and fighters who live and train in a walled settlement dedicated to the study of magic. Buildings inside the Academy include:

Chapel
Class Building
Greenhouse
Great Tower
Dormitories
Recreation Area
Garden
Massive Library
Fighters Tower
Underground Tunnel Network
Training Area

There are 29 NPCs with 24/7 schedules and as much personality as Oblivion can have. There is a shop, but it is hidden in the Recreation Area and only appears at certain times. At the top of the Great Tower, there is a teleportation machine. You can teleport to any Mages Guild, but it requires a special key to activate. There are also retextured robes for each school of magic. Where you can find them I won't say. You'll just have to explore. There is also a special suit of armor that has a pretty cool script attached to it.

WHERE TO FIND THE SPELLS AND ACADEMY

Look at the screenshot in the image section. Go to the Academy. Go into the Library. In the library's basement (next to the stairs) you will find the books containing the spells.

CREDITS

There are way too many people who contributed to this mod for me to list every single one of them. I looked at and used numerous mods in the construction of this one. I simply cannot remember all the people to thank. So, thanks everybody. And enjoy.

Also, concerning RagnaHighArc's comment on the webpage, I can't go through my Forum thread/posts to get the names. One, because I've never been able to post on these forums; and two, my computer crashed, causing me to lose all my bookmarks where I got the mods from. And three, I started this mod, got halfway done, gave up for a year, and could not remember the modders' resources I used. Oh, and as
if that weren't bad enough, the email that I used to contact all these modders was hacked. I had to delete the account.

So with that being said, I hope my giving of 'general credit' is satisfactory to everyone here.

Oh, I would like to thank all of the residents in the Imperial City Market District and particularly to Calindil, the owner of the Mystic Emporium, on whom I did most of my testing.

KNOWN BUGS

If you summoned a demon prior to version 1.02, you may have to track down the demon and kill him manually before Unsummon Demon will work properly.

LOD does not work properly for the Academy walls or towers

Avalon4 discovered a bug where walking inside while the 'Rain Fire' spell was active caused the game to crash and the autosave file to be corrupted. Save a different file often (quicksave hotkey).

FAQ

Academy FAQ
===============

How do I learn the spells?
You can learn the spells by reading the corresponding spellbook.

Where can I find the spells?
The spellbooks are in the Library's Basement in the Academy.

What is this special armor I keep hearing about?
It's a special scripted armor that allows the user to set hotkeys for a number or different effects. (think Crysis' nanosuit)

Where is the armor?
I'm not going to say. Sometimes it's more fun to find it yourself :)

What's wrong with the Oblivion gate spell and the Necromancy spells?
You MUST have the correct spellbook in your inventory for them to work. These spellbooks are retextured differently.

Why doesn't the mod work right?
Do you have the latest patch of Oblivion?
Shivering Isles?
