Description:

Kafei originally made this hair mesh as a wig only.

I like this hair mesh so damn much, I spent a few hours expanding upon it:

1. I remapped the UV layout for the hair band. The original had each quad mapped to the entire hair texture. Which, actually looked okay from a distance, but not so good up close, in my opnion. Now it looks like one continuous piece of 'quilted' fabric.

2. I pulled a few verts out a bit from directly behind the right ear, as they were sunk underneath the skin. Not all that noticable most of the time. But while I was spending all that time remapping the band's UV, might as well take 10 seconds and adjust that.

3. Deleted the ears as these won't be needed. "Ehh, what'd you say?"

4. Six new color variations to choose from:

Brown
Light Brown
Dark Brown
Red
Grey
White

-Seven in all, as the original texture is included as well.

5. and best of all, it's now playable as a hair like anything else in the CharGen! And it comes complete with .tri and .egm files! Thanks to Scanti's Conformulator.

Optional File:

While I was working on this I also modified Kafei's Multi-Pierced Earrings to use the Better Reguards' ear texture. A simply copy/pasty job between the textures.

There is now an optional file download for this. It's just a resource, so you'll have to set this up in the CS yourself. Kafei's Mulit-pierced Ears and Better Redguards 2.1 are required for this to look right. It's what's seen in the screenshots. Both original readmes are included in the file.

Assign the ear mesh you want to use from Kafei's mod and then assign the included texture to the Redguard Race.

========================
Usage:

This is primarily a resource for you to add them into the game yourself. But since I'm so nice, included are two .esp files for you to use or merge into your existing race mod.

ZBRE.esp - Adds the hairs to the Redguard race only. Nothing else is affected.
ZBREATS.esp - Adds the hairs to the following races: Breton, Dark Elf, High Elf, Imperial, Nord, Redguard and Wood Elf. Nothing else effected.

Both files are enabled for male and female.

Hairs are labeled in the CS Hair directory as ZBRE followed by the color, for anyone wanting to use one of the .esps to drop them into additional races.

Made with the latest CS and Oblivion Patch.

========================
Installation:

You can:

1. Drag and drop folder contents into you Oblivion\Data Directory.
Only use one .esp and activate it through the Data tab window via the launcher.

2. Use OBMM or Wrye

========================
Uninstall:

1. Delete the "Braided Redguard Expanded" folder from both your Meshes\Characters\Hair and Textures\Characters\Hair folders.

2. Do I really have to say what to do for OBMM/Wrye users? mmmmm. nope :)

Conflicts and Compatability Notes:

1. I used Ren_Head002.nif to Conformulate.
1a. I've not tested it with the default head or head06. Don't plan to. I don't think there would be a problem using either, but if so, please let me know so I can make note of it here.

2. I don't know how to make it so you can change color via the hair sliders. Hence, the prepackaged textures. I'm sure we're all so heartbroken.

3. Other than that, conflicts may arise if using another race mod. Seriously, if you use this you are stating you can use your head and know what you're doing when it concerns this. This whole race mod conflict stuff is years old and BORING!

4. As Kafei mentioned in her original release, this hair has a high poly count. If using this with a partner(s), I would suggest either you or an accompanying partner use the hair and not both, as having two more characters with this hair on your screen can/may cause stuttering.
