About this mod

This mod increases frame rates in cities by removing small items. Discontinued because of my inactivity.

I'm sorry, but I am no longer updating this performance modification. The current version is still safe for you to use, on the exception of Kvatch if you haven't done the quest named "The Battle for Castle Kvatch". If you haven't finished that quest, then you shouldn't use the Kvatch esp.

Another problem I've noticed, is blackened ground, this is mostly everywhere, but most noticeable in Cheydinhal. I could edit it out, but really, the idea of editing multiple esp files is really annoying to me. I have to load it up, make an edit, save, terminate the editor via task manager(Or wait 30 seconds), repeat.

I could make the mod in a single ESP file, but then you wouldn't have the option to disable certain ESP's for city mods, like Kvatch Rebuilt or ImpREAL Districts.

City FPS Boosts by Killslasher
______________________________

Just hours ago, I made a small mod named "Market District Fps Boost" which increased performance in the market district of the Imperial city. It did this by removing rocks, containers, flora, and shrubbery from the Market District. I was satisfied with my FPS rates there, but I still didn't enjoy the frame rates I got outside of the market, so I decided to do this with most cities.

This mod removes rocks, flora, shrubbery, and some containers from the Imperial city,(Including the two extra worldspaces when you're escorting Martin to the palace) and all other cities.

And no, mods that change cities won't work with this. Sorry, no Better Cities mod, no Open Cities mod.

To install, unzip the archive that you downloaded. Then, copy the esp files and paste them into your "Oblivion\Data" directory. After that, start the Oblivion Launcher, click "Data Files", and check the new boxes off.

"KS - Imperial FPS Boost" applies the mod for the Imperial city, whereas "KS - Cities FPS Boost" does so for the other cities.

Thanks goes to Bethesda Softworks for this game, Me for making the mod, and The Elder Scrolls Nexus for great mod hosting.

CHANGES IN 0.90
_______________
-I decided to add in Kvatch. Why did I do so when I stated that with mods, it won't work, and without mods, you'll only visit it one time? Because that "one time" is complete hell for my frame rates, and maybe so on others. Seriously, have you ever gotten 2 FPS? You may have noticed when using the "KS - Kvatch FPS Boost", that I deleted aggressively. This makes the Kvatch area seem a bit more plain, and less destroyed. I modded harshly, because I wanted a large FPS increase for this one. Kvatch is probably the most laggy area I've ever been in for this game. Even the interiors are horribly slow.

CHANGES IN 0.93
_______________
-I removed some "floating" trees in the stables next to the Imperial city.
-I removed some lights from the Arcane University.
-I removed some underground rocks under the bridge connecting the Imperial City to Tamriel.
-I removed the "stone walls" from the cities other than Kvatch and the Imperial city(They don't have them). Those walls, are the huge ones, they're small ones that guide your path along the roads inside the city. Believe me, there's a super-huge load of them! I took a screenshot in the editor to let you know how they look. If it doesn't feel right that I removed them, then unfortunately, this version and later ones to come won't appeal you much. If you do however, enjoy the performance increase.
-Removed a lot of trees from the cities.

CHANGES IN 0.94
_______________
-Removed access to 0.86 and the version before that to reduce clutter at TESNexus.
-Removed the Statue in Talos Plaza, and some statues in the Market District. I thought that maybe that because statues require a quite large amount of polygons, that would be a decent hit on FPS.
-Removed the small "stone walls" for the Imperial City. I didn't think they had those.
-Optimized a small amount of lights. Lighting is a large hit on FPS, so maybe I'll focus more on that the next time.
