And now, for a slightly saner, more zen outlook on life:

You don't have to be a +5 multiplier angel. You don't have to have micromanagement skills or endlesssly scour the Internet for ways to wring every last point out of the game. You don't need hint books. You don't even need cheat mods. Really, you don't. Honest! Let's try an experiment:

Close your eyes and take a deep breath... hold it to the count of four... now breathe out all that nasty, obsessive, tense, endlessly unsatisfying desire to build a character with stats more exalted than God. Good... Again... Very good...

Now relax and play the game. Solve problems. Fight. Run away. Interact with all these wonderful characters around you. Imagine that you are really there, without a calculator in your hand doing number crunches. Just... there. Enjoy life. Then rest, level up, and just take what the game gives you the way the designers intended...

    See? Wasn't that fun?

@jbricher I LOVE this comment! I saw it elsewhere... reddit maybe? Did you write it there? Anyway, all my previous playthroughs of Oblivion have been ruined with efficient leveling. I am replaying now, after all these years and seeing your comment made me smile! I can't tell you what a breath of fresh air it is for me. The idea of the game being fun, without me obsessing? Without micromanaging? Love it. That being said, I am still probably going to use some leveling mod (for cheap peace of mind), however- your comment made it possible for me to feel like I could enjoy the game as it is. Thank you. Kudos :)

not working correctly for me either. leveled mysticism at least 3 times, and restoration a bunch as well. but i only get +5 for willpower when i level. intelligence has no bonus.

edit: working fine. i'm just an idiot. i forgot that the way oblivion works is that it only counts skills leveled BEFORE the level notification pops up. so people who use this mod, after every time you level IMMEDIATELY level at least 1 skill point in every attribute you are trying to increase so you don't forget and screw your levels up. sorry for doubting or great mod author.

edit2: i just came back here to say thanks AGAIN. i can't imagine oblivion without this mod. i'd have to install one of those insane leveling overhauls if i wanted to avoid vanilla oblivion's micromanage hell of a leveling system.

I found out the problem, no matter what i did i had only +5 to int and nothing else, i tried everything changing lad order, reainstalling mod and other stuff. Nothing helped but then i came back and just kept leveling up and after thirs level up i got other +5 to willpower and agility and what i found out is kinda weird. Im not native english speaker so it will be hard to explain so sorry for my eng. well the thing is level ups cummulate and my mistake was that i spammed summon so i would level up my conj and after i got 50 of conjur i did same with mistycm and after that i leveled up other things like baldes armor and stuff. SO now to the point reason i got only +5 int was because I was learning only conj nothing else, level 3 only +5 int, level 4 same, level 5 only +5 willpower(cos i stopped conj and sapmmed mistycm) level 6 suddenly everything is fine +5 str +5 agi +5 endu. I donkt know how to explain it better but i hope u understand problem, u can just spam one skill to level up, u have to use a lil bit of each and thats it, i hope it helps

If you don't level up a skill associated with the attribute, you don't get the plus 5.

You must level up at least one skill associated with the attribute in order to get plus 5.

It's still not working for me. I've made is so that this is my only mod on a test file, and it still only levels up INT +5. Even though I leveled STR, it won't give the +5 to me. Not sure what i'm doing wrong.

This works perfectly. In the past, I always had to micromanage my skills and track them with pen and paper, turning the game into work. With this installed I don't have to worry about it.

I have tried Oblivion XP in the past, and while it works as advertised, I like this better because it keeps the original intent of use-based leveling but does away with the busywork. In fact, comparing Oblivion XP to this mod, your total attributes actually increase slightly faster with OXP, and with that mod it's possible to do ridiculous things like go from a 30 strength to a 50 strength in one level-up.

This is a great, simple, and effective fix.

This mod worked fine for me but all of a sudden it's stopped. It's also stopped me getting any plus's at all to a skill.

    Any ideas?

I'm having a similar issue. I just hit enough skill up's to hit lvl 26 but when i sleep the only bonus i get is to str. +5. the other possibilities are all +0.

That sounds like you've installed something that's conflicting. Installed any leveling mods or overhauls lately?

It seems that Wrye Bash merges this mod; however, there are no mergeable records in this mod. If you are using BOSS add a custom rule to place this after the bashed patch. Wondered why this stopped working for me.

Thanks magicbluesmoke for replying with the idea. I could cast detect life over and over until I leveled up Mysticism but it would not allow me to +5 Intelligence like the description says it would. Seems to work on some attributes, not others, so I'm trying your idea now. If you receive this response, can you let me know if this trick worked for you?
