Apparently 90 h2h and 110 str is not enough to lock bash very hard locks. Hard locks are possible if you hit them a lot, but for very hard locks... I guess you need to get high on Skooma or something like that. Whereas I could bash average locks almost from the beginning.

By the way, this mod is included in OOO. If you use OOO, no need to download this.

Worked better than any other I tried. Thanks for adding a bit more realism to the role-playing.

As cool as this idea is, I can't really recommend it. The implementation is much too random. Even warhammer power attacks with maximum strength and blunt skill frequently drain all of your fatigue and leave the lock unscathed. The same lock could be opened in a fraction of the time with lockpicking. Bashing locks exclusively also means you don't gain as much agility as you should, causing you to get ragdolled constantly in combat - a very masochistic experience overall.

This mod would be substantially improved if the random element were reduced or eliminated. Perhaps your attacks could lower the lock level by an amount depending on your attributes and skills until it reaches zero and opens. It's a nice touch that guards come running when you bash doors in town, but it would be even better if enemies in dungeons reacted to your banging away on chests. This would make bashing locks the quick-and-dirty solution that it's meant to be.

Yeah I was reading the descript and was immediately turned off by just how random it was. And I like how you think; but I'd do it just a bit different. Each lock should have a "health" equivalent to the lock level times a hidden multiplier. The player's skill with the weapon and security would lower the "health" each hit. Hand to hand would not damage the player, but be horrifically inefficient at low H2H (ever try to break a lock with your hands? no? I haven't either...). I also agree with the enemies in dungeons bit though I'm unsure as how it'd be implemented, maybe if they detected you at min level or was within a certain amount of distance, idk

Hi, it seems to be a nice mod. Is it compatible with OOO ? Does it impact performance ?

This mod should be fully compatible with anything. Tested with Frans, which changes to locks and chests.

Didn't notice any drop in performance.

Yeah I love this mod. I've been on consoles for years, and only started PC gaming a few months ago. One day my character ran out of lockpicks, and was desperate for gold. She was in some Ayleid ruin. I know that in TES 1: Arena it's possible to break locks by bashing on them, and so I wondered if there was a mod for Oblivion that does the same thing.

Found a small bug: looks like when you bash an owned door open it loses its ownership flag, so going through it no longer counts as trespass.

EDIT: tried it again and it didn't happen this time. Must have been a random glitch, or an odd interaction with some other mod.

    Hi, nice mod.

Just wondering if there is a specific change you would recommend to make breaking a lock a little bit harder?

I tried this and I was able to open a "Hard" lock with a level one character with 30 strength using a blunt weapon. Since this is the second hardest lock level in the game I would like to scale it back a touch.

Ideally I could reduce the player's modifier (and or roll) somehow to make it unlikely that someone who is a weak novice can open anything greater than an easy lock.

Wow I can just walk up to a chest and bash it open, simple as that. No casting weird spells or anything. Freakin' awesome and seems very compatible as I use it with MMM, Harvest Containers, and Frans.
