NOTE for modders: March 11th 2016
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Several people have asked me over the previous couple of years if I would be willing to share my assets with them, with regards to a number of independent ALIEN/Predator-type mods.

I no longer consider myself an active modder and probably won't for the foreseeable future. As such, I cannot guarantee that I can respond to such requests any longer.

So instead of risking utter silence, here's a chance to get my (from now on) default response to such requests:

First of all: My answer is always basically YES. I do not hold any kind of creative ownership over the ALIEN license. As far as I know, Fox Entertainment owns the ALIEN license. As such, I would not (and cannot) claim ownership over any part of the ALIEN creature design or any derivates thereof, and neither should you if you elect to use any part of my assets. Just use common sense.

However, the fact remains that I invested a lot of time and effort to create actual, functional and beautiful ALIEN creatures for Oblivion, and it would be almost sad if the results, as bare-bones as they are, would simply fade into, well, oblivion (bad pun is bad), without anybody even having a chance of knowing about it.

So I scavenged my old, semi-functional backup DVDs from way back when, and... this is what's left:
https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B1nDrHFm-Vu_NnpDVUVHOHNwUTg&export=download

I don't have the means to properly test these files. It has been some years since I last did so, but these videos might serve as a reasonable showcase of my work:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXRMoUCBtEc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lK5eVh-WxFA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xl-dcS8oAPs

The files included basically cover what is shown in these videos.

In detail:
Working skeletons, meshes and (very limited) animations for the Facehugger, Drone and Queen.
Servicable sounds.
Bare-bones everything else.
A test esp. that may or may not work (I don't remember). Try "coc arena",I don't know.
Most importantly: my 3d assets in 3ds Max format. If you have 3ds Max installed, you can open these files and export them using any contemporary NifTools plugin (if there still is such a thing [it's been a while...]).

A few words of advice/my experience with this:
In my experience custom* creature mods are the most difficult type of modding to pull off successfully in any TES game. You need to know EVERYTHING. You need to know 3d modelling, skinning/rigging, animations, texturing, etc.... how to do havok data without any tools making that even remotely feasible, you need to know how the engine handles all these files (models, skeletons, animations), how those files are structured, how to set them up in the CS. You need to know this stuff when there is no documentation. When the game simply crashes intstead of giving you meaningful feedback. When creature corpses flail like idiots and fly off into the sunset or fall through the floor when all you did was change a single decimal digit on some parameter in some branch of some skeleton file.
Worst of all: You need time and patience. I worked on this stuff for TWO years. It never got to a stage where I was happy with it. It's just effort, effort, effort. And then more effort. And experimentation. And effort. And failure. And then even more effort.
In short: Don't do it. By the time you're finished, you're no longer interested, because progress is too slow to maintain motivation. And once you do have a breakthrough, nobody else cares any more. It's an isolating affair at best.

But I survided it. And my files yet persist. And they kind of work. Yay.
Nobody else will have to do this kind of crap for these particular creatures, IF they decide to build upon my files.
Because all that's really missing is:
More animations.
Good textures.
Sounds.
Sensible integration into the game.
?
Profit.

*custom as in: actually a new SORT of creature. Not a re-texture or color-swap, not a new mesh haphazardly attached to an ill-fitting existing skeleton. The real deal: With a new skeleton, new physics data, new animations, etc...

Anyway, feel free to use these files however you wish. Just don't be a jerk about it (don't claim ownership and do give credit).

Thanks.

Oh, and have fun and good luck!

(everything below is still as out-dated as it was the moment it became out-dated.)

FUTURE PLANS/PROGRESS:
Alright, many people have asked whether or not I am going to make the Queen, the Predalien, the Chestburster, the Flying Snatch, etc....

Since I cannot take the time to answer the same questions time and time again, here's the answer:
I DONT KNOW! I am working on a mesh for the Queen atm, but very sporadically, as I don't have much spare time.

The head is as good as done and I'm positive that I will finish the mesh. I also have a slight idea on how I could get it ingame.
Screenshots of the head:

I plan to implement her as a custom creature, with custom skeleton and animations. If I can do that, the drone will receive the same treatment, and I will start with other creatures (Chestburster, etc).

Regarding animations:
Don't know. We'll see.

You may still ask your questions. I'll still try to answer. But let me put it as simple as it is:
Once I have something new I will let you know!

Thanks!

UPDATE TIME
--------------------
Version 1.2.1

Manual installation only. Sorry.

The abilities "Use Night Vision" and "Scent Life" are no longer usable spells. Instead they can be toggled by pressing either 'b' or 'n' on your keyboard. Way more convenient, I think.

AlienSlof's textures are already included in this package.

Starting a new game should NOT be necessary for the changes to take effect, if you used version 1.2.0 before. The spells will just be removed from you inventory.

Stay tuned and have fun with this mod! And please rate, comment, make suggestions.

No cute Elves here^^ Ever wanted to spread terror and death, convincingly? Now you can! Play the most fearsome creature ever conceived by man: the XENOMORPH!

2. Details
=======

Please read the whole thing, thank you!

This mod let's you play as a Xenomorph drone from the ALIEN movies. I added this
option as a custom race with custom meshes, custom textures, custom sounds, custom
abilities and an optional custom Class.

I recommend starting a new game for this to work properly. The body-suit is added as
soon as you exit the character-generation screen (as a Xenomorph, that is). You can
take off the different armor parts, but they will be re-equipped immediately. I did it
this way, because of stability-issues with gear that cannot be un-eqipped (e.g. when
going to jail). Don't worry about the armor being destroyed or somehow losing it: It
just won't happen. You also won't have duplicate gear. I took care of that.
Sadly, I was not able to find an economical way of animating the head. Sorry.

You can still equip rings, amulets, and weapons!

The texture acts as a skin. That means it will be affected by the skin-tone sliders,
at least to some extend (have fun playing an albino Xeno^^).

Custom Powers:
================
1. Use Night Vision
This scripted power let's you toggle between normal vision and the night-eye shader.
When activated, it either removes or adds a permanent night-eye effect from you. So,
this is a toggle-at-will. No more waiting for the damn thing to stop already.

2. Scent Life
Same as above, just with a 350 feet radius Detect Life spell.

3. Spit Acid
Target spell with base cost of 75 magicka that basically cripples the victim. Effects:

Paralyze for 1 second, damage Speed 30, damage agility 30, damage health 100

Abilities
==========
These depend on your level. The drone will shed its skin 3 times.

Level 1-9: Premature Drone:
-Fortify Fatigue, 25
-Fortify Health, 25
-Reflect Damage, 10
-Restore Fatigue, 2
-Restore Health, 1
-Resist Disease, 100
-Resist Frost, 10
-Resist Magic, 5
-Resist Normal Weapons, 5
-Resist Paralysis, 50
-Resist Poison, 100
-Water Breathing
-Weakness To Fire, 100
-Silence

Level 10-19: Adolescent Drone:
-Fortify Fatigue, 50
-Fortify Health, 50
-Reflect Damage, 20
-Restore Fatigue, 4
-Restore Health, 2
-Resist Disease, 100
-Resist Frost, 20
-Resist Magic, 10
-Resist Normal Weapons, 10
-Resist Paralysis, 60
-Resist Poison, 100
-Water Breathing
-Weakness To Fire, 90
-Silence

Level 20-29: Full-Grown Drone:
-Fortify Fatigue, 100
-Fortify Health, 100
-Reflect Damage, 30
-Restore Fatigue, 6
-Restore Health, 3
-Resist Disease, 100
-Resist Frost, 30
-Resist Magic, 15
-Resist Normal Weapons, 15
-Resist Paralysis, 75
-Resist Poison, 100
-Restore all attributes, 1
-Water Breathing
-Weakness To Fire, 80
-Silence

Level 30+: Elder Drone:
-Fortify Fatigue, 200
-Fortify Health, 200
-Reflect Damage, 50
-Restore Fatigue, 10
-Restore Health, 5
-Resist Disease, 100
-Resist Frost, 50
-Resist Magic, 25
-Resist Normal Weapons, 25
-Resist Paralysis, 100
-Resist Poison, 100
-Restore all attributes, 2
-Water Breathing
-Weakness To Fire, 50
-NO SILENCE!

If you paid attention, you will have seen that the drone is silenced (unable to cast
normal spells) until it hits level 30. I decided to do this for several reasons.
1.You'd be too overpowered. 2.They may be smart, but magic should be a pretty foreign
concept for the aliens to grasp. A drone that is older and has developed some kind of
individuality may be able though. 3.Magic should be something special, role-playing
wise. I want to keep it this way. Yes, this mod forces the player to play a physical
"character" for some time.

Stats (male and female, inc. Armor enchantments):
==================
Str, 100 (75+25)
Int, 50
Wil, 50
Agi, 85 (60+25)
Spd, 100 (75+25)
End, 60
Luc, 50
Per, 0 (The Alien IS a monster, after all)

Sneak +10
Acrobatics +10
Hand To Hand +10

Body size: 1.2 (One head-size taller than everyone else)

Additional Hand To Hand damage
==============================
In the "Extra"-directory of this package there are three .esp files. If you want Hth

damage to be vanilla, don't use them. They change the maximum HtH damage.
Vanilla: 15 Damage
XenomorphIncreasedHtH_100.esp: 30
XenomorphIncreasedHtH_150.esp: 45
XenomorphIncreasedHtH_250.esp: 75

The only downside is that this will change the HtH damage for everyone!
Use only one of these (ignore OBMM warnings)!

3. Requirements
=============
If, for some reason, you cannot use OBSE, there is an alternative esm in the "nonOBSE"-folder. That esm will not let you play as a Xenomorph, but it is a requirement for ALien NPCs to work.

If you can use OBSE, though:
In order to properly use this mod you will need the following:

Oblivion Script Extender (OBSE) - http://obse.silverlock.org/
Custom Race Fix (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1815)
Kartikeyas Arena Amulet (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8098) or something similar

4. Install
=======

For version 1.2.1
==========================
No more OMOD-ready for now. I don't have the time to script this right now. This doesn't replace anything from Vanilla OB, so uninstallation consists of simply unticking the plugins.

Quick-Install:
------------------
Uninstall older versions first.
Just extract the data folder from this archive to your Oblivion directory. Overwrite XenomorphRace.esm with the one from the "nonOBSE"-folder if you don't have OBSE.
Activate XenomorphRace.esm and one of the XenomorphIncreasedHtH_?.esps, if you want.

For version 1.2.0
==========================

No more OMOD-ready for now. I don't have the time to script this right now. This doesn't replace anything from Vanilla OB, so uninstallation consists of simply unticking the plugins.

XenomorphRace.esp is now XenomorphRace.esm. There are two versions of this file. The one in the "Extra" folder is for users who cannot run OBSE, and therefore cannot play as a Xenomorph. But, these folks can still have Alien enemies now.

Quick-Install:
------------------
Uninstall the old version first.

For version 1.1.1
==========================
This archive is distributed in what LHammonds calls OMOD-Ready format.
It allows you to manually extract and install like most other mods but it also
allows you to use Oblivion Mod Manager and import this archive with all the
settings pre-configured for an OMOD file.
Pick which method you are going to use for installation:

Xenomorph Armor Extension
A mod for non-OBSE users who want to put on some xenomorph armor
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24276

7. Incompatibility
===============
You can't wear armor. Cloaks, hair-styles, eyes. All useless for this.

8. Known Issues or Bugs
====================

Some people have reported that when they make a Xenomorph, all they see is an imperial with black skin. That normal. You have to exit the character-generation screen and start actually playing the game. The armor will then be added and equipped.

Others have the problem that the meshes don't show up. That's probably because you don't have OBSE installed. If that is not the case make sure the mod is installed fully and correctly.

Some animations will look weird, as they are not made for this. Fingers might clip through clenched fists (due to elongated fingers).

If you find a problem, tell me!

9. Modder's Interest: Xenomorphs as NPCs/Enemies
=================
I included several templates for Xenomorphs that act hostile towards everyone/everything except other Xenomorphs. When the player is one, he/she will automatically be part of an alien faction. They too have sounds and all. Feel free to make mods with Xenomorphs as enemies or whatever you want.

When adding Xenomorph NPCs, please stick to the templates in the NPC-Section of the CS. Drag them into a cell, adjust stats, give them a reference and save as a new esp when you're done. This esp will be compatible with both ESMs (unless you somehow include OBSE-functionality for the non-OBSE one).

The Xenomorph NPCs don't have dialog. As a Xenomorph you can talk to them, but they will only have the "I HAVE NO GREETING"-message.
