The Holy Avenger: Carsomyr, v1.1b

Description:
a mysterious, giant, golden sword enhanced with visual fire has appeared in the market square with your name on it. This version is a scaled down version of 1.1 for those who do not like the size of the original sword. If you already have version 1.1 installed, simply copy and paste the Mesh folder into your data folder and overwrite/replace when asked.

The sword is named Carsomyr after the great paladin blade “The Holy Avenger: Carsomyr” in Baldur’s Gate II.

As described from Baldur’s Gate II (edited for relevance):
The Holy Avenger: Carsomyr
Carsomyr is a weapon of legend, perhaps one of the most powerful blades ever forged on Faerun, though its origin and history is thought purposefully forgotten, such that the sword itself never overshadow the importance of the struggles that must be fought today. It is infused with the very essence of virtue, and requires as much from any paladin that would hope to wield it. The evils of the Realms must truly stand aside when this weapon is brought to bear…. Carsomyr also harbors a special distaste for the forces of evil and chaos and such creatures must fear… its touch in battle.

In this mod: the sword comes with a script that turns the flames off when unused and turns on when wielded. The sword is enchanted with fire damage, weakness to fire for those monsters that are fire resistant, dispels a small amount to keep in line with the namesake, and drains a little strength to keep in line with the theme of evil’s banishment. All to match the sword’s lore, but not too overly powered. It was tested on several guards and with a 35 paladin (spellsword class comparable) the fight was not overly powered by me. In fact, it may not be enough for damage dealing. If you feel it is not, please tell me and I will consider changing it. Just keep in mind I did not want the sword overpowering and considered a cheat. One further note, the nature of the scripting that is used to turn the flames off makes the weapon regenerate every time you sheath it and wield it again, thus you never have to repair or recharge the enchantment. Also, I believe if you repair it past 100 points to 125, it will also reset. Unfortunately, this is something that cannot be fixed unless someone knows a way to do so. If you do, PM me and we can try it.

Location:
The sword is simply located in front of A Fighting Chance at the foot of the statue in the Imperial City. There may be a quest for it added later if time permits me.

Requirements:
Unsure of whether or not OBSE is required, but I am using it. Also, unsure if the latest patch is needed, but it wouldn’t hurt to have either of these installed regardless. SI or KOTN are not required.

Installation:
Just place the files in the Data directory where Oblivion is located and merge with the existing folders. After placing the files, simply activate the esp by the usual means.

Uninstalling:
Delete the Carsomyr file that is in Meshes/weapons. Delete the Carsomyr file under Textures/menus/icons/weapons. And finally, delete the Carsomyr file under Textures/weapons.

Issues or bugs:
If you choose to remove the enchantment via a disenchanting mod, the flames may no longer be on the blade.

Credits:
-To Imperator3 for the original sword that this is based off of. Thanks for the wonderful work!
-To Jojjo for placement of the flames on the blade. Also, if it weren’t for your awesome Frostmourne mod, I wouldn’t have even played the game.
-To Nicoroshi for the wonderful advice, especially the scripting notes and help. Sorry I pestered you so much. Also for the brilliant flame texturing work that Jojjo was able to use.
-To Moicom for the great icon work. Thanks for the help.
-To Bethsoft for the flame textures, and needless to say but will anyways, the game itself and the Construction Set.
-To GIMP for the texturing.
-To NIFSkope for the scaling, altering, etc.
-To Baldur’s Gate II for the name of the sword.

Legal/Licensing:
