About this mod

Provides a little closure for MS27: \"Secrets of the Ayleids\". I felt the quest ended awkwardly so this is my attempt to remedy that.

Secrets of the Ayleids Closure

by misterMcCoonie
Created: March 2009
Latest: January 2010
LatestVersion: v1.1

-------------------------------------------------
Requirements:
-------------------------------------------------
TES4: Oblivion
Official Oblivion Patch v1.2.416

-------------------------------------------------
Description:
-------------------------------------------------
This mod aims to alter the ending of MS27: "Secrets of the Ayleids" by providing a less awkward ending. It is my opinion that the quest stops kind of abruptly and without any real sense of completion, but that may not be your opinion, so don't feel obligated to use this mod.

[SPOILERS]
The original quest ended with the "I must escape this death trap" message, but then simply ended when you were outside of Nenalata. This mod changes the quest, so that when you actually exit Nenalata, you will get a quest update prompting you to return to Umbacano Manor to inform Umbacano's staff as to what happened. Upon arriving at Umbacano Manor, you'll notice a note on the door. The note is from Jollring, describing, in short, how he knew what would happen at Nenalata, and stating that he has left to work somewhere else. Upon closing the note, the quest will be completed. At this point, you'll have the keys to Umbacano Manor (in case you forgot to loot them from Umbacano himself), the Ayleid statues in Umbacano's display case will belong to you (they will be their original weight also), and Jollring and the four guards will not set foot in Umbacano Manor again. Jollring actually disappears for good, but the guards still exist, living at their own houses during the day.

USAGE:
**************************

Ideally you should not have completed MS27 before using this mod, to get the full effect. If you have already completed MS27, you need to type a couple of console commands when you load the mod to get things working. To continue the quest after already completing the original:
1. Open the console (in game) by pressing '~'
2. Type "startquest ms27" at the command line (without the quotemarks) and press 'enter'
3. Type "setstage ms27 105" at the command line (without the quotemarks) and press 'enter'
4. Before you read the message that has just popped up, close the console by pressing '~'
5. Read the dialog box (this is the continuation of the quest)
*NOTE: If you have already completed MS27 before loading this mod, the quest will be sitting in the 'Completed Quests' section of your journal, and will not move from there, even if you run the above commands.

Compatibility:
-------------------------------------------------
KNOWN CONFLICTS:
-Conflicts with the UOP. This mod makes the same changes to MS27 (plus the new content) that the UOP does, so as long as you load this mod after the UOP, you won't have any problems. This mod does not require the UOP.
-Conflicts with Buy Umbacano Manor by Geniel

CONFLICT CONDITIONS:
Will conflict with any mod that touches MS27, the Ayleid statues in Umbacano Manor, Jollring, Matthias Draconis (DB quests not affected), Surius Afranius, Umog gra-Marad, Usheeja, or the Umbacano Manor outside front door.

-------------------------------------------------
Known Bugs:
-------------------------------------------------
Solved by v1.1 - If you bump into the letter on Umbacano Manor's front door, it will fall off.
Solved by v1.1 - The doors of Umbacano Manor might not be locked after all the NPCs leave.

Please send bugs/problems/issues to me, and I'll do what I can.

-------------------------------------------------
Version History:
-------------------------------------------------

1.0- Initial release
1.1PF - Created a static note mesh, so it doesn't fall off the door when you bump into it
- Added a new package to Jollring so he locks all of the doors before he leaves
- Removed 'Claude' from Jollring's letter, since it's conceivable he died before MS27 started
1.1F - Listed incompatibility with Buy Umbacano Manor, no other changes
