Nexus Mod Manager and OMOD don't like each other. Sometimes NMM may succeed in installing it, but sometimes it fails. NMM came out too late for Oblivion, so very few mod have NMM scripts. I suggest you switch to another mod manager, like Wrye Bash or Mod Organizer (they are much more advanced and don't even need scripts to install complex mods).
I can't remember exactly where it is, but in the NMM options you need to tick a box that directs NMM to certain file types, or installing omods won't work.
Note for people wanting to use this without OBGE--
"Note that editing RealisticHealth.ini and setting aaRealisticHealth.healthShaderGain and aaRealisticHealth.diseaseShaderGain to 0.0 should make it work without requiring OBGE (you get no tunnel vision health or trippy disease visual shader effects)."
-you will get a subtle hitshader/blur heartbeat effect only.
People having problems installing this mod; this mod requires special installation steps. Read the readme and note;
* NMM doesn't run OMOD install scripts, so it will not install this mod correctly. If you must use NMM then follow the instructions for a manual install.
* There are a few OBMM forks that IMHO are worse than the original. The original at the following location is known to work;
* There is also a promising looking update to OBMM called TesModManager that supports downloading from nexus. Check out the images in order on the mod's page for a nice pictorial illustration of how to use it. I've not used it but it looks good enough to recommend people try it;
OK I"m going to use this one with obge v1 instead of OR; because the one in OR is really buggy with some mods that add "inusual healing" items like MOO bandages or Francesco overhaul enemies potions
All: I've not had a chance to update this for some time. OBMM doesn't correctly detect new OBGE versions, and the shader may have problems with new OBGE versions. I've not had a chance to test it, I've put the updated shader offered by zilav here;
People having problems are welcome to test it and report back.
Someone92: Unfortunately all you can tweak is the overall effect with healthShaderGain. Try lowering it to see if you can find something that suits you.
knightspk2: That sounds like some weird hitshader effect. Are you using a custom hitshader? Are you sure this doesn't happen without RealisticHealth? Try turning off the hitshader effect by setting healthBlurGain and diseaseBlurGain to zero.
BassMunkee: You might need the updated shader linked above.
Any feedback on this shader update? Does it work as it should? Also, being only a few months old to the modding scene I find myself generally ignorant to the whole operation. As such, under the link with the shader effect script posted above, where do I copy / paste that script to? I should think my RealisticHealth.ini file, yes?
Hah! I agree, that's stupid. It's more realistic at how your visage gets blurry, you get tunnel vision and hear your insides (heart mostly) better than the outside.

if that is so
that makes this just depressing
As for not switching mod manager: it's your loss.

download the source code and copy the 'obge.dll' file from the release folder into oblivions \data\obse\plugins\ folder
, it is a small dll file only

Also note there are known problems with this mod that have not yet been updated;
* the install script (and OBMM in general) has problems detecting the new OBGE versions.
* The included shader is reported to have some problems with the new OBGE versions. There is a replacement shader you can try here;
RealisticHealth21.fx
If someone want's to package up a fixed version of this mod I'd be happy to give them upload privileges.
how do I install the replacement shader?

Curious, since I am using v3
have re-enabled in the ini but not tested to see if that's an issue or not...
Edit: This only happens in interior cells. Exteriors work perfectly fine. Please fix this, this mod is awesome.
