I don't know was this bug fixed or not, so I'm writing here. I'm using http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/8414/? version and accidently made my character essential by casting "set essential" spell on Golden Saints. This bug occurs when you target somebody with Reflect Spell ability. The way to fix it is to turn on third person view and cast spell on Golden Saint. If you see that visual effect applies not to Saint but to your character then your task is complete. For b3w4r3: if this bug wasn't fixed just check "disallow spell absorb/reflect" and "Script Effect Always Applies" in CS.
P.S. Sorry for my English - it isn't my native language.
I don't know if this issue is from this mod or not, but making a normal creature or generic NPC like a bandit essential doesnt just make that individual NPC/creature essential, but all those who share the base ID...
One ID of NPC/creature type copy/paste in the game world. Characters with names are Unique. Very useful for preserving perishable Quest Actors. and mortalizing the Adoring Fan.
I also set my player character essential and I tried "setessential player 0", it doesn't work. The game can't recognize the word "player" as a valid id. Both "setessential 7 0" and "player.setrefessential 0" works fine. BTW 7 is the base id of player character, if there is someone doesn't know about this yet.

Edit: setessential 00000007 0
Dunno if this is an issue or not.
Of course, console could also be used.

Oh, and thanks for making this handy mod!
