About this mod

A small mod to make hand to hand combat more immersive, and generally more useful.

Permissions and credits
Combat in Oblivion always leaves me disappointed. You hit people and they say "ow" and hit you back, and that continues until someone falls down dead. There have been mods to spice things up a bit for armed combat, but I haven't seen anything for hand to hand, which is why I made this.

This is designed to make hand to hand combat much more dynamic. Your blows can send enemies flying, make them stumble back, or simply drop them where they stand. Hand to hand combat is also no longer lethal (usually), and results more often in an unconscious opponent than a dead one. This is designed to be transparent and immersive, looking as much as possible like part of the original game.

How enemies react depends on your own abilities. If you have a low hand to hand skill and low strength, fights will be somewhat normal, with the occasional knockdown or knockout blow by you. But if you're a muscle-bound master of the empty fist, you can send your enemies flying like bowling pins.

THIS REQUIRES OBSE v0015 OR HIGHER! Get it at http://obse.silverlock.org/. The game will crash if you try to launch it without this. This mod goes way beyond normal Oblivion functions, and can't be re-written in vanilla.

This was designed with Sinkpoint's 1st person hand to hand animations in mind - this mod is much, much funner when used in combination with these animations! Enemies will respond correctly to the sweeps and crushes, and go flying when you kick them. The mod will still work with normal animations, but the normal expert attacks are rather banal - just knife hand strikes... or something. So - for maximum fun while using this, pick up Sinkpoint's Martial Arts Animation Replacer! (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16746)

Two esps are included in the zip, activate the one that corresponds to the animations you use.

See the readme for more information, as well as the specific attacks that can be used for one-hit KOs.

If this simply isn't working for people, please, _please_ let me know!

Version 0.92

Fixes:
Unconscious hostile NPCs no longer enter combat with you when you loot them. You can now rest near them.
I inadvertently erased a few lines when I took out debugging info, which caused a few random errors. Fixed this.
Sucker punches - depending on the amount of mods loaded and how busy the area was, it may or may not have been working. Now it should work all the time.
Sucker KOs that KO on hits to the solar plexus now KO on hits to the solar plexus, ribs, and upper and lower abdomen. The hit location detection just wasn't exact enough for such a small area.
Overall damage has been greatly scaled down. It was originally firing several times an attack, and this has been fixed. You can no longer 2-hit KO anyone in the game.
Essential actors no longer get up after being KOed, and no longer talk to you when you try to loot them.
Fixed "actor is fleeing" bug when trying to loot KOed civilians.
Unconscious NPCs no longer complain when you steal things.
ACtors only react to blows when you're in combat with them now, or they're not in combat at all. No more doing a roundhouse kick and KOing an entire room.
Added:
Talking to unconscious NPCs now lets you loot them. Essential actors use a special loot that lets you take even equipped items (I can't find a way to apply this to everyone yet).
(I'm currently working on adding support for Sephs animations, but that takes a lot of time and I want to get the bugs out of this first.)
