Hell's Executioner is the sword of Moriar the Infernal Headsman, lost 400 years ago near the end of the last era.

Moriar was the bloodiest man to ever live, if a man is what you could call him. Some said he was possessed by Lord Sithis himself. The fact that he lived for almost an entire era gives some amount of credence to this claim. History's first mention of him is as the headsman for the Imperial family. Before being exiled from the Imperial City by the Emperor, he was credited with executing nearly 700 criminals, from the lowest pickpocket to the most heinous murderer, by taking their heads with his unique blade. At some point in his illustrious career, the Emperor became convinced that his headsman was under the influence of some malign power. The bodiless heads of citizens were being found by the score all over the Imperial city and surrounding settlements. Each head would gaze at it's discoverer with glazed dead eyes and through some evil magic it's mouth would start to move. With a voice like the booming of distant thunder, each would give this warning: "Beware the Headsman, his name is void and he comes for you."

Eventually the Emperor was forced to take notice when the heads of several prominent nobles were found on the steps of the Temple of the One, screaming their warning at all who passed by. The Emperor himself had saw this first hand and when he was made aware of the Imperial Legion's suspicions of who was responsible, he called for Moriar to appear before him and the Elder Council. As Moriar was being led into the council chambers his true nature became manifest. According to the reconstructed records, Moriars eye's bore the first sign of his corruption. The Legion soldiers assigned to escort him told how, as they watched, the darkness of the void appeared where once his cold blue eyes were set. His face became pale as snow and an unnatural aura seemed to coalesce around him bringing a mighty chill and an overpowering deathly terror to the escorting legionaries. When one of the two guards tried to look into the black pits that had been his eyes, he fainted dead away never to awaken again, some say his very soul had been lost to those bottomless wells of darkness. When he entered the council chamber, Moriar made this statement.
"The just and the unjust, the righteous and the sinful, He who is the Eternal Night sends me to claim you, for your rightful place is the darkness between worlds. You belong to the barren wastelands of the underdark and I have come to guide you on your journey."

With his piece spoken aloud and recieved by the Emperor and the members of the council, a black whirlwind appeared before them all, swirling and tearing around Moriar. The darkness thickened until Moriar was hidden from sight and expanded to fill the entire chamber. The Emperor and the council members were stricken with waking visions of their own deaths, their lives ended with the infernal blade Moriar so prized, their last sight his twisted grin.

When the darkness and visions abated, they found the spot where Moriar had been standing empty. No one had seen him leave, not those present in the council chamber nor the guards stationed outside the doors, he had simply vanished into the twirling darkness.

In his absence the Emperor declared Moriar an outcast, forever exiled from the Imperial city. He was to be hunted all across Tamriel and one of the largest bounties in the empire's history was placed on his head.

In the many years since his disappearance nobody has ever seen Moriar and lived to tell about it. Even the stories of him that were once used to frighten small children into obedience have faded from memory. Treasure hunters possessed of the rare knowledge of Moriar have searched long and long for his ancient and powerful blade, but to this day it has remained in hiding, waiting for one to liberate it from the ambiguity of forgotten history.

There is a legend that says, at the end of Moriar's mortal life, when his body could no longer sustain the power of the entity controlling him, the entity, which some believe to be the dread father Sithis, transferred a portion of itself to the blade which had been forged in the nether regions of the abyss in hopes that one day some hapless mortal would find the blade and the malevolent entity could take possession of a new body and sow death and destruction on the material plane once again.

Will you be the one to find and claim it? Will the hell-forged blade claim your soul or do you have the strength of will to make the blade your servant?

An Evil Character's sword, concept designed by theLeeHarvey and made a reality by Ryu Doppler.

This is a mod collaboration between the very talented Ryu Doppler and not quite so talented me. It is intended as a sword for a mid to high level character with a tendency toward the darker side.

It's a one handed long sword with stats slightly better than Daedric and has a Fire damage 40pts./Weakness to fire 25% for 10sec.enchantment on it.

Hell's Executioner is located in a locked chest in front of the altar in Hackdirt's Chapel.
There should be no conflicts with anything unless you have a mod that alters that location.

--- Now there's only one file that contains the meshes, textures and .esp, use Hell's Executioner_fixed. ---

Installation: Unpack the .7zip file to your desktop and then copy the meshes and textures folders and the .esp to your Oblivion/Data folder. Start your game and check the box next to Hell'sExecutioner in your data files. Update
your Archive invalidation/ BSA redirection(OBMM) and launch the game.

Uninstall: Uncheck the .esp file and delete it from your Oblivion\Data folder then delete the RD folder from \Data\Meshes\Weapons and \Data\Textures\Weapons.

I don't mind if you want to use this in a mod of your own, just credit Ryu Doppler and Myself is all I ask.

Credit:
Ryu Doppler- He's the man who did the work making the meshes and texures
Myself- I designed the sword and made the .esp file.
Waalx- created the Uruk blade texture that was used as the basis for the texture on this sword.
Bethesda- Without them we'd be bored.
