Can anyone out there update this to work with Oblivion Remastered? I tested it, spell shows up in magic but casting it on an NPC crashes the game. Id imagine it only needs a little tweaking but im not all that familiar.
Downloaded last night, works great so far! Have been using SB weapon drop fix (weapons stay in inventory, unlootable by followers) and was on my last straw when I noticed my boy Martin had finally broken his trusty iron dagger and was trying to fist everyone. Thanks to this he now has a sweet sword and a bunch of daggers like he deserves, will try this on other followers in the future.
Only "issue" I've noticed so far is certain items (in Martin's inventory, at least) multiply every time you access them. For Martin it's his Ten Commands book, bread loaf, and wine (+65 with every access). Doesn't do anything, but he's currently lugging around 200+ of each item. Could be a game quirk or something I did, as I did give him some extra books & foodstuffs to hold.
When I used to play around with the Construction Set back in the day, some NPC inventory items would have a quantity value of -1, which is used to duplicate items for NPC packages like eating, drinking, reading, etc. so that they always had an item to use for the package. I think it's also used to give NPC's infinite arrows. For NPC's that have those item quantity values in their inventory, accessing it in-game does as you described. I'm pretty sure anyway.
When I give my followers armor and weapons (Martin, Adoring Fan, Modryn, Sir Lathon) they have it, but then it just disappears from their inventory when we load somewhere else. I lost a bunch of items like KOTK armor and Umaril's sword.
Thanks a lot xdarkness. Works like a charm. I managed to get my companion Vilja into Nehrim but a lot of her functions aren't working like inventory so I couldn't recharge her weapons and armor but your mod saved the day.
And there are Skyrim mods that do basically the same thing (search Skyrim Nexus for things like "inventory"). It can be challenging to get them to work perfectly, because of Skyrim's screwy "outfits" system. Often you give someone something and they won't wear it. You often have to use the Console to force them to equip the item you want them to wear, and to remove the default outfit item from them. (In that order; if you remove a default outfit item when they're still wearing the outfit, the system just gives them another copy automatically).
