Description
===========
This mod changes the sword Umbra into a soul devouring blade whose power grows as you win battles (kill) with it. The more kills you make, the better the sword becomes, the more rewards you get.
Location
========
Umbra can be found by doing the Clavicus Vile quest which will point you to Vindasel where Umbras current owner is. Kill her, take the sword and don't give it to Clavicus.
After reaching 500 kills, you will be given a key. This is used to obtain the armor/robes found in the already mentioned Vindasel. Go to where you originally fought Umbra. There will be a door with a purple light around it. After obtaining the key (it will be added upon getting 500 kills) venture through that door to claim your prize.
Details
=======
Umbra is described as a blade of amazing power who can steal a mans soul. Soul capture was a great way to illustrate this ( and has not been removed ) but I do believe I have found a way to even better simulate Umbra's soul stealing power. It turns it into something very similar to a blood drinker sword (like in the shivering isles) only heres the kicker: the kill count won't restart daily and the rewards are permanent.
So how does this mod achieve this? Well Umbra now has an additional enchantment effect: "Umbra Soul Devour" when a foe is killed with Umbra, a clap of thunder will be heard and a message will appear at the top left of your screen saying:
"Umbra has devoured X amount of souls. The slaughter continues."
As Umbra makes more and more kills her attack damage, speed, and enchantment will all grow in power. First at 25 kills, then 100, 200, 400, 650, and lastly 1200.
Once she has reached the apex of her power ( 1200 kills) she will move as fast as a dagger, have a base power of about 30 and her enchantment will last longer and have a damage health effect. Some may call it overpowered, but let me remind you it is no easy feat to get 1200 kills with a single weapon which starts out as fairly weak. On top of that, it is not as devastating as you think, considering you must keep the enchantment up (lots of soul gems) and keep it in good repair. It will be powerful, theres no denying that. But hopefully you won't find it to be too powerful.
Also Umbra comes with a lesser power "Umbra Weapon Switch" which allows you to switch between a one and two handed version of the sword. Both swords are fully functional, level up with the kills and work perfectly. You will only recieve the weapon switch after the completion of the Clavicus Vile Daedric Shrine quests. No glitches expected. If you have updated and don't see the spell in your spell list, drop the sword and pick it back up. The spell will appear.
Umbra also can manifest herself in three different ways. When you first recieve the sword she will be in her magic manifestation which is made for use with the Wizard Umbra robes. Three lesser powers will be granted to you upon reaching 500 kills. These powers allow you to align Umbra with her Warrior version, her Wizard version or her Assassin version (Combat, Magic, Stealth). Each is designed to go with the corresponding set of armor found in Vindasel.
Lastly, upon reaching 500 kills you will be given a key. This key is used to open a door in Vindasel which leads to a room that contains two sets of armor (one light, one heavy) and one set of robes. Their enchantments will, at first, be less then appealing. But like the sword, their power grows with the kill count. Eventually they will become very powerful pieces of equipment. Though at first they are rather weak, stick with them. Their power will grow.

Install
=======
1. Extract the files to a temporary location.
2. Examine the files. Be sure they are all there (esp, textures, meshes)
3. Copy files to the install folder: \Oblivion\Data\
4. Start Oblivion Launcher, click 'Data Files', place a checkmark beside the .esp file.
5. Remember, this mod requires OBSE v16 or later. Once the ESP is activated, use the OBSE Loader to play Oblivion.
Upgrade
=======
Simply download later version and your game will be updated. Esps won't differ in names so you won't lose your kill count. You may have to drop Umbra and pick it back up to get some of the powers (weapon switch, summon fury)

FAQ
=======
Q: The swords appearence is changing but it isn't getting any more powerful as I get kills! Whats going on?
A: The scripts in this mod *REQUIRE* OBSE (Oblivion Script Extender) to work properly.
Q: I want to use the 2h version of Umbra but I don't have the swap spell. Help?
A: In order to recieve the swap spell you must complete the Clavicus Vile shrine quest. This is to avoid errors and glitches within the quest.
Q: I upgraded from an older version and don't have the swap spell or summon fury Umbra. Why?
A: After upgrading, drop Umbra and pick it up again. This will add the spells
Q: Where do I go to get the armor?
A: After getting 500 kills, travel to Vindasel, where you originally fought Umbra. A door will be found in the main chamber. Open it with the key you have recieved after reaching 500 kills.
Q: The weapons are showing up as pink shapes. Whats going on?
A: You haven't installed the textures properly. Reinstall the textures if you have them or redownload the mod.
