About this mod

Modifies the Vampire race to make them look less... well, crappy.

Permissions and credits
This mod does the impossible. It does the unthinkable.

It makes Vampires look less like ass.

Using throttlekitty's wonderfully tweaked head mesh, and my own wonderfully tweaked FaceGen and Game settings, I've managed to make Vampirism a little more in line with modern Vampire literature and culture, as it were. Rather than the Nosferatu of yesteryear, Oblivion vampires can now look "too beautiful." Their appearance, when well-fed, is more in line with "haunting," rather than "nightmarish."

Basically they require a lot more quotes than before.

EXACT CHANGES:

- The standard FaceGen settings for Vampirism are disgustingly bad. I reset the face shape and texture to standard, changed the tone more towards paleness/blueness, and lightened up the eyebrow and "beard" portions.

- Vampirism normally mods your age forward by 100, adding wrinkles and other unpleasantries, especially for those of us using Django's Unique Features. The sudden addition of tattoos upon gaining undead status always bothered me somewhat. With this ESP, Vampirism now *reduces* your age by about 40. This makes older characters suddenly look more youthful, as undeath has proven to do in more modern takes.

- Rather than using a stock Bethesda head mesh for Vampirism, I've instead used throttlekitty's "Hotter Heads" mesh - the masculine version - for its better definition in the sunken cheeks department. In merging the two, Oblivion now churns out a remarkably Vampiric countenance.

ISSUES AND WHATNOT
====================================

I have NO IDEA what this mod will do in combination with other mods that modify Vampirism. Honestly I have no clue. You can try it, and maybe it'll work. Maybe it'll break the game so bad that Todd Howard comes all the way to your house and brains you. I promise nothing!

CREDITS AND THANKS
====================================

Big credit and thanks goes to ThrottleKitty for up and making an awesome head mesh for Vampirism. I don't actually use the head mesh as a normal head mesh for a couple different reasons, but when I got the idea in my head to make a mod like this, it was the first mesh I went looking for to do it right.

Thanks of course to Bethesda for making the game and sucking bad enough at making Vampires that I up and tried to fix them myself.

WHY NOT MAKE VAMPIRES "BETTER"?
====================================

Because I think Bethesda's Vampires are fine. It's an interesting new take on the disease, and I completely understand how the apparent jump in logic was made that gave them the idea to do it this way.

It starts out as a simple disease. It makes you tired. Not a huge deal. Then, you sleep, and it takes full effect. You awaken undead, plagued by nightmares and feeling a desire to feast on the blood of mortals.

But why do you need to feast on the blood of mortals?

Because your body wants to be mortal again.

That's why feeding LOWERS your Vampiric power. By consuming mortal blood and getting it back in your body, you've brought yourself away from death's grasp. You've given up power in exchange for humanity. But by allowing yourself to continue in unlife, by abstaining from all things mortal and living, you delve deeper into the world of undeath, and gain more power by doing so.

Convoluted? Hell yes. But I think it's awesome.

Thank you for reading and/or downloading as the case may be.
