Version 6.4.0
- Voices regenerated for all Argonian Males using ElevenLabs, plus a few other dialogue lines which had previously been missed. Better Cities should now be fully voiced using ElevenLabs. Also generated voice files for all races for dialogue restricted to the guard factions (which in the vanilla game are all Imperial Male, but many mods add NPCs of other races and gender to guard factions)
- Anvil Bay: the pilotable ship Evening Star's initial location has been moved out to sea, as it was extremely difficult to sail it out of the harbour. A warning for any players who have already bought and sailed off on the Evening Star: after updating to v6.4.0 you will likely find that the ship is no longer where you left it (but you still own it), so you will need to retrieve the ship from just outside Anvil Bay
- Imperial City Waterfront: Improved chances of the penned horse remaining within its pen
- Imperial City Undermarket Tunnel: Vendor alcove gates will no longer be permanently locked even when vendor is present (this could only happen if you upgraded to v6.3.3 from an earlier version, having already visited the Undermarket Tunnel in your existing game)
- Imperial City Palace District: lighting improved in most interiors, with help from Xenogearslucas who fixed the normal maps for the upper class interior house textures
- Beggars who are of a race which lack vanilla voice files for beggar-unique dialogue have been removed from the beggar factions
- Gold Horse Courier Rural Deliveries quest: when asked to deliver to every Mages Guild in Cyrodiil, the quest markers which were pointing to a Fighters Guildhouse will now point to a Mages Guildhouse instead. For Cheydinhal, the dialogue option for Deetsan is now available
- Bruma vanilla quest A Plot Revealed will no longer be broken if Bruma is toggled open
- Chorrol quest Gate Into a Dark History is finally finished, and can be played through to completion. I highly recommend leaving any followers/companions in one of the taverns in Chorrol when playing this quest, as they may have a little accident if you let them try to follow you
- Chorrol quest Who's the Daddy? received minor tweaks to its end-dialogue, the Breucombe house door will be unlocked most of the day so the player won't have to pick the lock to complete the quest. Virani will no longer overstay her welcome after the quest ends
- Leyawiin quest Life After Life memories have been redesigned to hopefully look more interesting
- Leyawiin quest Foolish Youth slightly improved when leading the Nord to the port
- It is no longer considered stealing to claim your weekly reward from the Payment Chest, after completing quest Gold Horse Courier Service
- Xenogearslucas has provided some more HGEC and Roberts Male meshes
- INI file for the OBSE plugin updated. I don't think this plugin is really useful anymore, but it does no harm
- New compatibility mesh for Oblivion Character Overhaul, created by xenogearslucas
- New compatibility mesh for Oblivion Character Overhaul Enhanced Beast Races patch, created by xenogearslucas

Version 6.3.3

- Imperial City Undermarket Tunnel has been redesigned to look more Imperial:
- Switched from the basement tileset to the IC basement tileset, and removed the side passages
- The tunnel is wider, the ceiling is higher, the merchant alcoves are bigger (except the one for the smiths, they're rather crowded now)
- The Residences and Store Rooms are now accessed from raised passages above the alcoves, overlooking the tunnel
- The old Public Bath House which used to be in the Market District but was removed a year or two ago has been restored, now in the Undermarket Tunnel. The Public Bath House Garden interior is also restored, along with the residence for Selvia Urgeli and Peric so they can get back to work maintaining the Bath House and Garden. As before, the Public Bath House is locked shut until the quest Clear the Aqueduct is completed, if using the BC IC Imperial Isle ESP
- Four beggars from ICExpand which had not previously been integrated into BC now occupy the Undermarket Tunnel
- Leyawiin interior Old Storage Chamber exit ladders corrected so the one for closed worldspace links to the closed worldspace and the one for the open worldspace links to the open worldspace
- Leyawiin quest Peace for Olivia will no longer get stuck at stage 5
- Leyawiin quest Skooma Trade can now continue past stage 20 or 25 if the script fails to trigger, by activating the empty skooma bottle
- The intro video for the Blood & Mud questline has been upscaled to 4k to clean the frames then downscaled to 1k, also changing the aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9 (upscaled from 800 by 600 to 3200 by 2400, then downscaled to 1920 by 1080)
- FOMOD install script should now correctly find and install HGEC meshes when selected

- Xenogearslucas has further improved the Light Daedric and Daedric Glass armour set meshes and textures

- All dialogue which originally came from the mod Blood & Mud Dirt Deluxe Anglais has been rewritten so that it now makes better sense; some of the books have also been rewritten
- Fully voiced using xVASynth 2 to synthesize the voice lines. Quality varies between voice models and from line to line, so please don't complain if you don't like some of the lines - however if you want to generate better quality lines (using the voice models for Oblivion only) and send them to me, I will use them
- Reduced the number of NPCs who when met for the first time force a brief conversation to flesh out their character. These conversations will now be optional instead
- Gold Horse Courier Local Deliveries will now reward 25 gold upon completion (up from 10)
- Gold Horse Courier recipients who give a tip will now tip a random amount between 1 and 5 gold. On very rare occasions, 6 gold, as Oblivion doesn't handle randomisation equally (changed from exactly 1 gold)
- Scripts for the trigger boxes which are supposed to ensure no NPC gets stuck on the wrong side of a city gate fixed so they actually work
- Ansol and Hewie (and their ship) deleted. Config option to disable them removed from the INI/LINK menu
- Helm of the White Stallion will now hide the head of the wearer, instead of allowing big heads to clip through the sides, or Argonian/Khajiit heads to clip through the front
- Some pointless "Sitting Drunk" idle anim records which just used the same idle anims as vanilla "Sitting" idle anim records use have been deleted. This will ensure compatibility with any mods which replace vanilla "Sitting" idle anims
- New compatibility patch for Chorrol and Ef's Shopkeeper Mod, this replaces the old patch provided by Efhunter. Note that if already using Ef's Shopkeeper Mod, you must remove it and create a clean save first, or the patch won't work (recover your possessions from the shop first)
- COBL integration patch updated, the alchemy shelf found in the player home in Leyawiin is now coblized. The Luggage can now be found in the Leyawiin player home and on board The Evening Star
- Better Cities IC Arena District - Reclaiming Sancre Tor compatibility patch updated to restore the water in the water pools

- The mod New City: Leyawiin has been integrated into Better Cities. English translation from the original Russian mod has been further improved beyond that found in the English version of New City: Leyawiin
- Leyawiin:
- 36 new locations added to the city, roughly 70 new occupants, and 19 new quests
- The vanilla purchasable house has been upgraded to a middle-class house (and will conflict with any mod which alters the interior)
- The castle has new/altered interiors, and the dungeon is now accessed from the castle courtyard instead of from the Castle County Hall
- All new interior cells contain integrated support for the mod Storms & Sound
- All new quests will provide XP if using the mod Oblivion XP
- All old Better Cities-added buildings within the city walls and a few outside the city walls have been relocated
- Six signs around the harbour (not related to New City: Leyawiin) have had their texture placement adjusted so the words are no longer cut off by the edges of the sign
- Hjalmar's Beehouse - patrons will now all sit down to drink instead of standing and often clumping together at the entrance

- The ESP Better Cities - Leyawiin Flooded.esp has been dropped from the mod, as this feature did not fit with the new Leyawiin
- The ESP Better Cities - Open Better Cities.esp has been dropped from the mod, all its edits have been restored to the individual city ESPs where they originally came from before the BC OBC ESP was first created
- The ESP Better Cities - Open Cities Reborn.esp has been dropped from the mod, as it depends on content in the ESM which no longer exists, and has never included content added since v6.0.0, so lacks a lot of what Better Cities has to over. If you still wish to use Open Cities Reborn with a "light" version of Better Cities, then download Better Cities v6.1.2 instead
- Imperial City building meshes now support AWLS
- Imperial City Diplomatic District: Found out how to workaround a bug where trees fail to load in new worldspaces if the trees are in the ESM. Moved tree placement from ESP back to ESM

- Minor corrections to NPCs
- Imperial City world map may look corrupt or distorted in-game if you have the in-game Video Setting "Texture Size" set to Medium. I believe I have fixed this now - however I recommend changing this setting to Large unless your PC is as old as the game is
- Bravil: Jean-Pierre Lemonds will no longer be naked, for I have given him replacement armour (after his old armour got lost in the wash)
- Imperial City: A workaround has been implemented for the times when fast traveling into the city from anywhere outside the city fails, as occasionally happens due to the game failing to register the override script. Now instead of being dumped in an "empty" open space where the desired district should be, you will fast travel into a black void, which when activated will trigger a message box and then completes your journey to the district you had tried to fast travel into. Anyone who complains that they dislike this workaround will not be viewed favourably
- Imperial City Diplomatic District: NPCs who visit the Public Bathing House should no longer wander the streets or their homes in just their swimming clothes
- Imperial City Diplomatic District: If you have Better Cities Imperial Isle active but not Better Cities Elven Gardens, the trees in the Diplomatic District will now be visible
- Imperial Isle: If you have Better Cities Imperial Isle active but not Better Cities Elven Gardens, the (intentionally unreachable) gate in the Elven Gardens which links to the Isle will now be hidden on the world map

This is slightly more memory efficient, and should look better for those who have not run TES4LODGen and so don't see one end of the aqueduct when standing at the other end (as you have to run TES4LODGen in order to have the game load the _far meshes which make the farther end visible when distant)
- Corrections to stats/factions for a small number of NPCs which were missed in v6.1.0

- Support for Oblivion Mod Manager and TES Mod Manager dropped completely. OMOD install script removed

- Rangers Guild quest New Recruits: Dialogue for seeking recruits in Cheydinhal fixed, all NPCs should now offer an answer instead of just the Argonians and Khajiits
- Rangers Guild quest Making More Friends in the Guild is now enabled and playable
- Several AI Packages intended to trigger idle animations (e.g. reading, writing) which weren't, now should trigger idle animations
- Storms & Sound integration has been extended to cover all interiors added since v6.0.0
- Copied overridden edits made by Unofficial Oblivion Patch into vanilla records edited by Better Cities. This was last done in BC v4.13
- Lynges Thieves Highway is no longer integrated into Better Cities, as it does not fit with the new changes to the Imperial City
- Imperial City:
- World map has been reduced in scale so now you can see most of the city on your screen at once, instead of only most of a single district
- World map has been regenerated to reflect the additions and changes in v6.1.0. Trees, rocks, ships etc. are no longer displayed on the map; now only land, water and buildings are displayed
- You can now Fast Travel into any Imperial District from the wilderness or any other city, just like you could in the unmodded game (on rare occasions this does not work correctly - if you Fast Travel and end up in a strange-looking location, just open the world map and try again)
- Within the city, all map markers have had "Imperial City " removed from their labels to resolve the visual glitch this caused on the world map due to being too long
- Arena District: Pillars surrounding the two large statues will no longer emit a purple glow when also using Oblivion Reloaded
- Arboretum District: Restored the plaza pavement around the edges of the district
- Elven Gardens: Created a new upper level, with taller building meshes, patio roof gardens and balcony sections
- Green Emperor Way: No longer a mere graveyard and palace, now this is a proper district where the richest citizens live. Buildings have been moved from the Aristocratic District to the northern half of Green Emperor Way District, leaving the lower half of the District for the dead and buried
- Green Emperor Way: Three mausoleums merged from IC Expand
- Market District: Restored the plaza pavement to the entire district
- Market District: Replaced the stacked building meshes with new custom taller building meshes which look better
- Market District: Replaced the upper level balcony with a new mesh designed to fit the Market District buildings perfectly
- Talos Plaza: Replaced the stacked building meshes with new custom taller building meshes which look better

- Yvette now has a stool in her shack, which should discourage her from attempting to enter the other nearby shack to sit down when eating

- If you use the Bravil gore toggle, this will now also disable the gallows and hanging skooma dealer outside the city
- Storm Drain access from outside the city - fixed collision to rock behind Grate which was blocking access and preventing using the Grate as a door. Replaced (Imperial City) Grate mesh with one more suited to Cheydinhal
- Theon's House: one of the exterior doors for Open Better Cities will now only be enabled if the city is toggled open, instead of being enabled at all times
- Chorrol:
- Divine Pint - New interior mesh created by mhahn - now the interior matches the exterior properly, without needing a teleport door to travel from one side of the ground floor to the other side. Also adds a third floor, adding additional rooms. Should have been in v6.0.10 but somehow I lost the changes and had to redo them
- Large Caves beneath Chorrol, some of the locked doors were scripted to relock after the player leaves the area and immediately return, instead of waiting the standard (default 3) days before resetting - replaced with unscripted doors
- Leyawiin:
- Removed statue base and lowered statue of Arkay in poor quarter. Removed rocks sticking through boardwalks near this statue
- Skingrad:
- Skingrad Outskirts: Some houses used custom meshes made up from multiple separate pieces. Mhahn has provided a single house mesh for each, combining the separate pieces which should improve FPS
- Skingrad Outskirts: The two wells are now activators used by our COBL integration patch
- Skingrad Outskirts: Is now in a closed worldspace by default to improve FPS. You can toggle it open again using the console command "StartQuest OBCSkingradOutskirtsToggleQuest" or using the option found in the Better Cities in-game menu
- The secret door in Baron von Zarov's House has been redesigned to look cooler and also to resolve issues some players had, which I believe was due to them using another mod replacing some vanilla meshes with inaccurate collision, which prevented those players from activating the door
- Minor adjustments at the location where quest mod An Unexpected Company adds a house, to ensure compatibility without need of a patch

- Corrections to names, weights & values for various items from CRII
- Added keys to various NPC inventories from CRII so they don't get locked out of their homes or offices
- Corrections and adjustments to AI packages, stats and inventories for NPCs from CRII
- New compatibility patch for Alternative Start Arrive by Ship and Better Cities: Leyawiin (this is our own version of this patch, the starting point is on the deck of a ship, and the traveller's sack will be visible in front and slightly to the right as so
- Fixed compatibility patch for Origin of the Mages Guild and Better Imperial City: Arcane University to use the new version of the Imperial City world map
