Hey WIS, I am not sure if this is normal but I am seeing one of the steps inside Wawnet Inn in Weye near Imperial City. Is this normal or am I missing a patch? The mods that are changing this area are AFK Weye, Lake Rumare Region Revive and MTC Villages but I also have a patch installed for those three mods i mentioned. Any ideas? Comments?

The step in the inn's interior is normal, i.e. as intended. Btw, there are quite a few more in various houses, basements etc.

I see.... so it's normal to see a step inside an inn. Okay, that's a relief... I thought I messed up somehow and it ended up inside. Haha!! BTW WIS is still helping you maintain this mod or are you doing it yourself, just out of curiosity.

I broke out Oblivion somewhat recently, and made a beeline for this mod - always loved it. Its nice to see its still being maintained.

This Mod takes Oblivion to a new level! The trills that this mod brings into ones heart are unspeakable. The quests will make you read and think. The Lost ruins are smartly designed, terrifying and dangerous. You will never know what you can find behind the next corner. Is it a treasure!? Or is it a horde of Axe welding skeletons waiting for you? Well, it sure made me respect the undead.

Be Warned: Omar really loves his ayleid cutlery. He caries them around everywhere he goes. If you try to take them from him, be prepared for a deadly battle. You may be wandering who Omar is, well he is a damned ....

      Thank you :)
Unfortunately, Omar had to be relieved of his collection in v.3.7. The leveled lists did not work as intended.

Hello. I am having an issue with the new update 3.6.11. I installed the update esp, moved the esp back to its proper load order position for my game and loaded Oblivion. Now whenever I save, I get a CTD. Whenever I try to autosave, I get a CTD. I am going to downgrade back to pre-3.6 and see if I can resurrect my save file from Oblivion (heehee pun intended). Please advise, because I have more than 1000 hours in this save and really love the Ayleid Steps quest and its rewards and would love to see what happens next in the story (only on second quest).

Whew, that may be your problem right there. Usually this behavior is an indication of a corrupted save. It may just be coincidental that it occurred after upgrading this mod, although when Oblivion checked for dependencies after the upgrade, it may have come across the corrupted bits and brought the problem forth. Definitely delete the auto-save. When Oblivion loads, prior to loading a save, go into options & turn off auto-save, at least for now. Try loading the save game PRIOR to the one you were using when you experienced the crash. Go to an indoor location, far away from your current position, that does NOT have an Ayleid step and try making a new save. If that works, then I'd advise you to leave auto-save off because it's a major source of bloating & save game corruption. And be aware that your particular playthrough is in the nursing home waiting to die.
What is the size of your savegame file?

Thanks for the insight and to be exact, the save file is 397 hours but I have much more time than that it cleaning and modding it, up to 1k hours total in experimentation, thus saying I have 1k hours in. As an avid experimenter with mods, I have ran over 300 separate and distinct mods with this save file alone. Because I do mess around with so much, one would expect to have seemingly thousands of conflicts, but I have ran into exactly 4 conflicts in 10 years that were game-breaking through what one would have to say at least 2k mods, and this is the first major issue with this save file. My save file is only 12 MB, I clean and bash the garbage out of it, and remove corruptions when needed, and all I have in terms of issues is some clipping occasionally or a missing mesh that is no bother to me. This save is more than three years old and I'd like to not simply retire it. Here's how things progressed while in 3.6: 1. loaded game in Frostcrag, 2. used toys to get my Cheydinhal Pet Shop pets back safely in the tower where we all live, 3. Organized much of my vault and even placed a bookshelf, 4. sorted ingredients in one of the many wall cabinets I have in the living quarters (Imperial Furniture Renovated), 5. used guild portal to go to Bravil to explore that Ayleid Step right outside of the city by the stables (so far no auto-save), 6. Entered step and ended up in a Lost ruin and raided it of all its goodies, 7. exited and ended up near the IC, 8. tried to save, CTD. I tried many incarnations of this including attempting to save at various points during my progression (all ended with CTD upon save attempt). Now, for the update when I downgraded to 3.5: not one issue saving, or auto-saving at any point up to before I entered the Ayleid Step outside Bravil. I will enter that tonight and if all goes well, I hope to save and update you all.

Ok, update on my issue. I attempted the Ayleid ruin inside that step outside Bravil, and I was unable to save. I disabled auto-save, and even though I have been able to save in other areas, I cannot save before, near, inside or after that Ayleid step is complete, so I am deducing it has to do with the script from the update that is creating the issue, because this issue was non-existent prior to it, and I believe that even downgrading the update back to 3.5 did not fully erase the issue. Still, you have my thumbs up endorsement for this mod as it appears to be wonderful. I am going to clean save and try again. If anyone has a suggestion that does not involve me scraping my save, that would be appreciated.

Hi everyone. I wanted to update everyone one last time about my 3.6 issue. After downgrading back to 3.5, I did some random teleporting around and then went into a vanilla area that I knew was without a step and did a console save command, and I did get it to save. After that, I backed up everything and reset a few cells and so far, I am back up and running, and was even able to enter, loot and save in the Ayleid ruin that you go to from the Bravil horse stable step. So, whatever my former issue was relating to the upgrade has been fixed, and no more conflicts have arisen. Thanks for your help RavenMind.

Just to clarify, you had to use downgraded 3.5 version, and you still use it, or did it update properly now to the newest version?

After I downgraded back to 3.5, I was able to continue my save, using the save feature as well as the console save command. RavenMind is accurate in assessing the bloating from using Autosave for so long, so I am disabling it going forward for this particular playthrough. Because the 3.6 only addresses the UL compilation, which I do not use, I am not upgrading again unless a newer update relates to my particular set of circumstances. In the modded Oblivion world, that is always an option. I did install the 3.6 update properly the first time, but I was unable to save my game in any location or time, so I downgraded in order to reset my save back to where I could continue the playthrough and save. This is a great quest mod and the locations and secrets it holds are worth doing whatever it takes to continue to enjoy it. (-: Thanks Ervvin for creating this and WIS for continuing the updating.

So the console save was on 3.5, if I'm reading this right. Hm, this has me a bit perplexed. I think you may be right in your assessment of 3.6.11, at least in-so-far as it relates to what's in your save file. I'm no scripter though, so I won't be able to tell much by looking at it, WIS or someone with more knowledge than I will have to do that. Either way I'm glad you're able to play again. It sounds like you've got some good practices! I wish everyone on here were as diligent about their saves & setup as you! Sorry I wasn't of much help.

RavenMind, I meant it when I thanked you, because your thoughts reminded me to run a couple tests. I found some conflicting scripts between the UL update and two of my other mods, so even when downgrading, I had to reinstall a couple minor mods that were affected.

Could you please tell which was the 2 affected mods and/or how they conflicted with the script? I'd like to know for future references.

The direct conflicts that occurred were with Keychain, which resulted in my keys disappearing during my salvation of the save, which who cares, I didn't need any of those keys anyway anymore (except for Ellesynd Estate, but I console open that one anyway), and a mystery script from which I do not know its origin... ID ref 0d210c24, which to date I have no idea where that one belongs and my laziness got the better of me when trying to find it after I was able to recover my save and continue playing. One day I might discover what missing craziness it belonged to lol, but until then, I'm not overly concerned with such minor scripting conflicts that the console can easily fix. Truthfully, I am loving this mod, and look forward to discovering more about it as time goes on. The Ayleid Steps has my full endorsement! (-:

12/20/17 Update: Happy Holidays everyone. I just wanted to update you all on the adventures of Alaron in Tamriel. I did some TES cleaning, some patching and more, including reinstalling every mod I use. I no longer experience the crashes I had before, I uninstalled Keychain as that did seem to create many issues with the Ayleid Steps that I do not have enough knowledge to figure out. As for any conflict with Maskar's AMAZING Overhaul (shout out! (: ), a simple reinstall of his mod completely cleaned things up. I am up to the third quest now and am in love with this great mod. Thank you all for your help.
