Hate to break it to you, but Bretons ears aren't that pointy, and males can have them too, because there's already a pointy-eared male Breton in Shadowkey, and in ESO, you can customize your character to have pointy ears (if they're a Breton) regardless of the gender.

I really loved this mod & used it for years. I really liked the ear shape. It worked really well.

After I installed Ren Beauty Pack with the Mystic elves this no longer works on the Bretons though. It must conflict somehow with several other mods.

Actually, you're stating that the females are a lot less likely to have smaller ears than males... Because you basically applied the color-blindness gene "theory"
-Recessive X, so a female has to have a double positive X, whilst a male needs only one.. Otherwise, the genotype of the female will be negative.
Just had it in Biology class (for the third time ¬¬)
Sorry if my explanation has already been mentioned!

    But thanks anyway!

I wish this would work, unfortunately it's not compatible with any eye changing mod. Great idea though

your logical has problems for males only have one x there for we would automatically Now you say not all male and females have them but there is still a chance to receive the ears regardless of gender thank you very much just wanted to point that out

what i'd like to see are pointed ears added to any humanoid race when they become a vampire.

@siempre "What I'd really love to see though, to give the bretons a truly 'half-elven' feel; is a brand new ear mesh, with the barest hint of a point."

I've already done this (and other modders feel free to reuse the ear mesh if you like, with credit).

I really like the idea of this mod- unfortunately, I've already used the mod that replaces the dark elf ear mesh with the longer elven ear mesh (and I can't live without it, so that means I have to pass on this, sadly...).

What I'd really love to see though, to give the bretons a truly 'half-elven' feel; is a brand new ear mesh, with the barest hint of a point (think more like the "elf" ears in the LoTR movies). If you or any of the other modders ever get bored...

Yup executor32 is right, if it's a recessive trait you'd need to have two X chromosomes to get it. If Y chromosomes can't carry it and it's a recessive, the one Y chromosome is going to override it in a male.

As far as all women having it, I imagine the X chromosome would *exclusively* carry the elf ear trait and male chromosomes would exclusively carry the human ear trait. So if you're a female you're guaranteed to have elf ears, if you're a male you're guaranteed not to have it. I don't know if that's really possible, I'm speaking from half-rememberings for 8th grade biology;.

Let's not get too serious about this though, it was just a way of BS-ing about what was really an aesthetic choice. It's be like trying to rationalize in-game why all the women have huge breasts after you install EyeCandy <img class=">

However, in order for a recessive trait on the X chromosome to express itself, there must be 2 copies of the X chromosome which both possess the gene for the trait. If there's only 1 copy of the X chromosome or if both copies don't possess the trait, then the trait will not be expressed.

If anything, this means that most female Bretons should still have human ears, and only a minority would have elf ears. The only way to do this in-game would be to copy the Breton race, change the ears to elf ears, and then change, say, 25-30% of the female Breton NPCs to the new race.
