Hi, the mod worked great until I made a bashed patch.
I think this is a unique problem, but for some reason I can't write the letter "c", and this just baffles me.. I tried uninstalling, making a fresh bash patch without it and even replaced the book_menu file with the original I had, and the problem still persists. I'm out of ideas, does anyone know what to try to fix this? This one little problem destroys the whole mod for me.. the worst thing is, it worked fine the first time. Man, I have a real love-hate relationship with this game..
EDIT: Found the solution, I had to hold ALT key and then press "c", it made the special character but after that it worked. Still a mystery on why this was the solution, but yeah.. if someone has the same issue try it like that lol.
This and other Journal mods seem to crash when I start typing to write in them. Anyone got any thing they can ask/tell me that might help? Should i show my load order? i dont think i have any active that change my UI. Im so confused.
*Update* It seems to mostly crash when i type into a scroll i created, i havent tried creating a book yet. "*Player Names* Journal" seemed to let me type more, long enough to let me exit typing there and try creating my own. Again only crashing when i create my own scroll and type into it.
Note: I actually thought this Mod looked really cool. I went through the trouble of installing Pluggy, as well as the NorthernUI (Away) Plugin for support with this Mod, though Pluggy has conflicts with MO2, & causes MO2 to hang on exit, or not even start up the game if I leave this Mod installed in the MO2 instance.
I liked the Mod though, while I actually decided to uninstall Pluggy, as well as this Mod.
Most of the Mods that I use don't require anything extra, not actually, or require OBSE at most.
So I know I'm probably wasting my time but I'll try anyway. I have downloaded the mod and followed the instructions in the readme as written. The journal menu item does not appear in my inventory and there is no indication that the mod is actually installed, yet when I disable the esp the game acknowledges that something has been removed. Is there a console command that spawns the journal menu item? or is there another fix that I can use?
I love this mod and have been using it in almost all my playthroughs. But there's only one small problem: Sometimes when I try to write in the book I write in the Daedric Script instead of normal letters, lol. I don't know if I'm pressing something that causes me to write in the Daedric Script or if it's a bug? lol
I dont understand what this does (its too early in the morning dont blame me) is it just replaces the vanilla journal as in quest tabs and such or does it give me a book to write on? if its the first its cool if its the latter it sounds... unnecessery.
Okay so, I'm having some trouble with the xml files in the mod. I copy the vanilla UI over after renaming it, overwrite the file, doesn't work. I'm sure that Pluggy and OBSE are the newest versions as I installed Pluggy just for this mod, and OBSE had a (1) next to the file name when I downloaded it which I'm fairly sure means it's a dupe file
I decided to try OBMM instead, but I have no idea what the "archive" I'm supposed to be copying is. I looked in the OMOD conversion data section... And nothing appeared that was valid for OBMM (I'm presuming they're the same thing, judging from internet searches). I'm genuinely at my wit's end now, so I'm going to promptly give up until tomorrow and hope someone can help me
Am I a moron, or you can't put \ sign on the PC? I tried everything, and my PC always says I can't put this symbol in the name. This is really annoying.
Can journals be exported to a format accessible outside the game? I really wanted to document my girl's adventures across both games, and also be able to read it outside the game... Not to mention have copies that aren't dependent on a save. ;)
The change logs seem to indicate that possible, but I just wanted to make sure.
