OBSE v16 and up needed.
Pluggy v122 and up needed.
NEW VERSION:
Much faster saving and loading, with no "simulation" of keys pressed.
More compact save file names, with just player name and a progressive number.
Guaranteed clean exit with no crash.
IF YOU WERE USING THE OLD VERSION, my advice is to make a clean save. Uninstall the old version, load the game, save, install the new version and reconfigure the keys.
Description:
I was looking for a way to "abolish" quicksaves since they are becoming corrupt very often in my game, while this doesn't happen with normal saves.
I built on this idea and came up with a mod adding shortcut keys for saving, loading and other useful things, like taking screenshots and closing the game with a clean exit. By clean exit I mean the game won't crash anymore on exit, which it often does when you quit in the normal way. With this version, and thanks to Pluggy, the no-crash is guaranteed.
Here are the shortcut keys.
FastSave: A key to make a new save immediately (not a quicksave but a normal save) with the name of your character and a progressive number.
FastOverwrite: A key to overwrite your most recent save with a new one (again, not a quicksave).
FastLoad: Load your most recent save (made with the plugin's FastSave or FastOverwrite keys).
FastToggle: Toggle the user interface on or off without opening the console.
FastScreenshot: Switch off the user interface, take a screenshot and switch it back on with a single keystroke.
FastExit: Close the game with no confirmation dialog, and without the risk of the game crashing. Guaranteed crash free exit.
How it works:
The first time you load a game with the mod activated, you'll get a configuration screen. From there, you can choose your keys (if there's one or more keys you're not interested in, just don't configure them).
You will also be able to choose how often the script will run. Actually the impact on performance should be zero, but if you want to you can make the script run less often to lighten the load on your cpu. You will have to keep the buttons pressed for a little more though (a fraction of a second anyway).
If you want to call the configuration menu again, type "startquest fastconfig" in the console.
Minimum Requirements:
OBSE v16.
Pluggy v122.
Installation:
Copy the contents of the archive to the Oblivion\Data folder, activate the mod and go.
Compatibility:
If you're using this with MenuEscape, just load this last and disable MenuEscape's autosave and autoload functions. There should be no other compatibility issue.

Thanks to Qzilla for pointing the way towards the clean exit procedure.
Thanks to lilith for her help with testing.
