    AMD users!

If Blender menus don't work for you open the Adrenalin software, go to Gaming section, locate Blender, at the bottom of the settings page click advanced and find anti aliasing settings. Setting Anti aliasing to override application settings, level to 2x and method to supersampling allowed blender menus to work for me.

You have probably solved it or moved on, but for the sake of others reading here....

Your set up may well be good but for newer style NIFs, ie Skyrim/FO4/etc you must also prepare the NIF before you attempt to import it.
These are old tools and cannot process the newer generation NIFs without a few tweaks, .... Oblvion/FO3 is about as recent as they can "read" without these adjustments.

There are vids and like out there to better explain what you need to do to import newer NIFs and similarly how to "reprocess" them after export

This may help get you started. >>>>>

Thank you for this software collection & "how to guide".
It may be old stuff now [32 bit] but still gets the job done,...... and works just fine on Win10 [64bit]

The problem I'm having as that even after installing all of the software they say is required, Blender still refuses to open NIF files. As per the instructions on the GitHub Nifscripts page, I have installed (in order):

    Python 2.6.6
    Blender 2.49b
    PyFFI 2.1.11
    Blender Nifscripts 2.5.9

All 4 of these installs were marked as "successful" on completion. However, Blender still shows all NIF files greyed-out, and it refuses to open them. This is very frustrating.

I'm guessing that I'm not the only one who has had this problem. Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello I am following a Creating an armour for fallout tutorial http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Fallout._Part_1

Its taken me to this and so far its great the files are all here even the older ones... however several things concern me first this seems to be all for 32 bit my computer is 64 I hope this doesn't effect this from running correctly?

Secondly and most important reason I need help with is in the instructions it says open nifscope and set up render settings... it says click the auto game button and I do this but I dont have Oblivion!!! Is Oblivion required in order for me to edit things for Fallout and Fallout new vegas? I assume it is and is only used as a tool? So that I can edit the armors and then import them into my fallout new vegas files?

Please any help is appreciated very much

I am in the same boat. I was wanting to create a Fallout 4 armour. I followed the Wiki here only to find my 64bit PC has Python 2.7, which I have to have for Wrye Bash 64bit Python version for mod Organizer 2. I also have the latest NIFSkope. My modding career looks flaky already! :-)

Wiki, team, time has moved on. I advise anyone following this trail contact Wiki Nexus and see what is going on here.

If someone is wondering if it is a good idea to start editing anything in Blender as a newcomer to 3D modelling. NO. Definitely not!
Blender is a nightmare that makes you think at first "ohhh, I must be stupid", until the point you realize that it's not your fault that this faulty software doesn't work in any possible way. It was written in a way to ensue that it will never work for anyone on this godforsaken planet.

Of course, there must be some professionals and veterans who know exactly what it has to be done to make this work, but I'm not one of them. I work in IT, I'm willing to learn new things, but in general I don't really want to start anything by downloading a software's source code to edit the errors out of the damn thing before I can start to learn the process.
In case one of those people finds this post, I'd be really happy to see an "extended readme" or guide or something about how to force Blender to have several things in it like, for example the User Preferences window, which doesn't appear by default for quite a lot of people.

As such, my question would be: What else people use to edit 3D models? 'Cause I'm 100% sure noone uses this crap.
/* Except for veterans who already figured out how to fix the thousands of bugs this software has. */
I've installed everything according to the readme, yes, I'm one of the several people on Earth who reads those and it didn't help in any way.
I've tried to figure out why this doesn't work and after reading quite a few forums and watching videos I realized: This garbage doesn't have a single working line of code in it. Practically, there's not a single case when everything works in this steamping pile of crap. As for example, I don't have most of the menus and the User Preferences window - which is not even mentioned here, but is insanely important for that you have to add the addon to Blender - doesn't even EXIST in Blender. There is a menu entry, but it leads to nowhere. That's all.

If anyone manages to forward me to a software that can be actually used for 3D editing for mods or someone manages to write down all the additional steps required to make this bloody thing work, I'd be grateful.
    Thank you.

Blender works fine, you just need to dedicate time to understand its ins and outs. If you're frustrated with this program, you will be on suicide watch dealing with the other, more complex programs.

I want to thank you so much for putting these all together in one package, because trying to find these older versions has been a nightmare!

I'm assuming we have to use these older versions due to the ages of the games we are dabbling in; but really wish these utilities would institute some kind of backwards compatibility (for the older games we are working with) while still giving us the most up to date features and functions.

Endorsed Heartily, and thank you again for this convenient package!

I was wondering, if I already have the most current version of NifSkope (because I'm working in Skyrim), Do I need to install the older NifSkope in the Apps folder too?

Also wondering - If I use NifUtilSuite too, and it has to work with Blender. Should it be installed in your Apps folder too or will these utilities "find each other?"

I appreciate any help you can give, I seem to be install challenged, lol.
