Actors use torches outside shelter. Don't let them creep in darkness like self-proclaimed victims who brood over one mishap in life just so they can blame personal difficulties on it.
Love the mod, use it along with Dungeon Actors Have Torches?. Really makes things more believable when people in towns and cities roam the streets with torches and bandits in cave don't stumble like bouffons in the dark. Only issue I have is that the mod gives torches to the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild faction which is not ideal for them, roleplaying speaking :P. The real one is that the Dark Brotherhood Murderer follower gets one and in dungeons he always carries it, even when telling him to sneak and he uses chameleon. Would it be possible to update the mod and exclude the DB and TG from getting torches? :)
That's strange, in order to prevent giving torches to followers the script always checks whether NPCs are part of the Player faction, which the Dark Brotherhood Murderer should be once he joins you. In any case, if anyone else encounters this issue you can use "removeitem 0002CF9F 1" on the affected NPC to remove their torch, hopefully solving the problem.
SnowyOmen, I'm guessing you'd have to change the meshes and such of the copy torch. But this would mean that ALL exterior actors who recieve torches from this mod, would get the new torch. That being said, a candle might work for a city goer, but I doubt someone on the road on a long journey would be using just candles. However, your suggestion of a lantern isn't bad for that case. How one would script different styles of torches into the game is a bit beyond my ability at the moment.
I'd make it so that they have a 50/50 chance of having a torch, because they only have two options, have one or don't. There's no need for a 60% chance.
Do you know of the Drop Lit Torch mod? Would be nice if the NPCs could also drop their torches instead of stashing them when they pull out their weapons.
when doing that daedra quest where she tells you to go cast her darkness spell on 5 priests of light so her forgotten can kill them. well if any of her worshippers at the shrine have had a torch spawn, she wont go pass her 2nd line of the conversation (after you activate the shrine).
only way I was able to fix this was to turn off outdoor torches and she talked just find, the indoor torches mod didnt affect this quest at all, but I did have to turn indoor off for one quest too, but I cant remember which quest at this time
