It was a terrible night.

It started out well. Nenn had just helped the dashing Remane brothers solve some of their troubles. Reynald was so taken with her he asked her to meet him at the Imperial City's Merchant inn for a nice dinner. She quickly traveled home and found her nicest gown. "This" she said to herself "is going to be such a wonderful evening."

By the time she arrived Reynald was already face deep in a pint, despite his promise to his brother to give up the ale. He jumped up to kiss her the second he saw her in such finery, in the process knocking over the poor servant girl who had only just began working there. Her tray of food flew all over Nenn. The rest of the dinner consisted of little eating, and a lot of pushing off Reynald and his slobbering advances.

Irritated, she decided a nice walk at dusk around the market district might save Reynald from the dagger she had stashed away under those layers of silk. That's when she saw the guard. Under his arm was a shiny package wrapped nicely in a bow. She watched it fall from his arms as if in slow motion.

"SIR! You dropped something!" she yelled. She ran out to grab it for him, but he just kept walking.

That's when she saw the tag: Divine Elegance. Nenn knew right away what was in this box. She knew she already owned what it contained. But then, what lay inside this box wasn't hers.

"Such a horrid evening" she thought to herself. "A little gift would be so nice..." And she pushed the box under her long skirt.

Just then, the guard turned back around. "Excuse me miss, did you call for me?"

With a sheepish grin and batting eyelashes she replied "Yes, sir, I did. There's a drunken menace who needs taken care of down at the Merchant's Inn. I think he attacked the servant girl!"

From the alley way as she unwrapped the gift, she could hear Reynald proclaiming his innocence.
