Emperor assasinated and so did his heirs, then the Amulet stolen, Oblivion gates opened and daedra attacked. Now in addition, the King of Worms reappeared and Archmage Traven sacrificed.

What would be worse? All the burden on one's shouders is not funny at all, not even a little bit, especially your standpoint is vague. The Empire is terribly in need of new leaders, new heroes. And that can't be a sole false god killer or someone of that sort coming from the province Morrowind, one of the most troubled places of Tamriel in the past decade. Oh, and that is not your own ol'prophecies about saving the world from the false gods. Are you actually expecting a war hero of another place to save your family from a total cataclysm?

The Crisis itself is the Empire against one of the Daedra Princes and his worshipers. How fair should you lead the people those aren't supposed to be a solid part of the Empire now and make another daedra-worshipping group against the other, while it is not your business? As a former member of Blades or Guilds? Intervention out of the interests of people of Vvardenfell? Of course, until the Gates opened in front of your house then you may have the right to fight back, but that all will be too late.

Barely to see a light for tomorrow, Meredith must be out of her mind to consider there's only one left capable of saving the world alone. Should not Traven trust her to that point and kill himself. :P
