Nothing happens to Kvatch

I use multiple characters and love a mod that prevents me from starting the main quest. Not going through the main quest means the gates of Oblivion won't open, and Kvatch shouldn't be attacked either.

I don't have any business in Kvatch, but every time I pass near, I notice the burned trees LOD. So, I quickly cleaned up hell's gate and camp and trash, greened the burned-out area, and planted trees. Also, removed the residents and soldiers outside the gate.

Are there any simple MODs like this?
I've been using Kvatch Rebuild until now, it's great MOD but too burdensome to use it just for LOD.

    beautiful screenshot! I've never seen the Kvatch entryway from far away before, it looks so grand! :0

    for a mod which makes Kvatch look alive again, you might look at the mod "Kvatch Returned" by Bobbyx here on NexusMods! It makes Kvatch look like a real city again! I really like this mod (I even made a mod based off of it a while ago, haha), it does need some cleaning in TES4Edit but it is impressive in-game!

      It's an angle that we don't often see in the game... unless fly.

      As for Kvatch Returned+Expansion, I noticed(!) that I had added this to my tracking list before. I never actually used it because at the time I only wanted the Kvatch exterior, but since you reminded me, I'll take a closer look!

      that's for sure! It makes me wish that the Levitate spell made it into Oblivion, just so we could appreciate the landscape better!

      also, wow!! I'm surprised you say that! :0 I figured my version of the mod wouldn't be to your tastes because I added some NPCs with dialogue that implied Kvatch had been destroyed and then built again (dialogue like, "Look at how great the city is now that we defeated those Daedra"), while the original Kvatch Returned doesn't have any NPCs and so has no dialogue. Whichever version you choose, I hope you like it!! :)

      That's a relief! I do hope someone gives you the answer you really want though. I had a look through the mods - as you likely have - but I didn't really find anything that looked like it would fit the bill. I always use the Kvatch Rebuilt one...
