Yes i'm alive for now. Got some annoying health things and been busy doing non modding things. Anyhow, got oblivion to work (again)
Now, before you are tired of reading this comment further: windows update nuked some old things.. Something about *32 runtimes being put to rest??
->Redownloaded june 2010 redist -> no pop ups telling that direct x is up to date and whatever it says -> obse boots immediately, no 5 crashes or needing to launch, kill exe with task manager and launch again.

I have no idea what you just said about your computer problems, but I am glad things seem to still be in working order (mostly?)
