About this image

There's not much that can be said about my arrival to Skingrad. I had a package that someone needed delivering, and they tasked me with doing it. It seemed simple enough: Drop it off, get paid, come back for future deliveries.

Simple enough. No one needed to get hurt with this, and I didn't have to spend another evening staring at the ceiling of whatever hovel I rented for the evening thinking back to all the choices I've made that led me to this moment. I dealt with enough blood and steel for enough time, especially when it came from those who were like me: Struggling for a meal and a surety of the next week's safety.

One thing that can be said of Skingrad though is that it's a beautiful city that just seems so CROWDED even if there's not a whole lot of people out and about. It's not an overly large city by any stretch, aside from the outskirts at the north,  but the way that the buildings seemingly loom above you create long blocks of shadows that hide the corruption beneath it well enough no matter the time of day. The city's only area that seems to be lit in light is the central road that split the town in two.

Curious how it was designed that way. At the least, with Bravil you knew the ugliness was evident and what was there. Skingrad... not so much.

I just hope my contact was in the Weald so I can leave. There was something about this place that didn't sit well with me.
