About this image

55 FPS from Frostcrag Spire, looking at the direction of the IC,

with an almost full RAEVWD installation ( forts, ayleid ruins, ships, large rocks, statues, wilderness architecture)

I don't remember having such a good framerate with that mod, is that normal? Or did I discover something?

No other VWD mods? Are you using OR’s framerate manager? View distance doesn’t look especially huge, so maybe that’s helping.

The view distance is Vanilla with ugriddistantcount to 25, I am using OR Lite which has no framerate manager.
The far meshes mainly come from raevwd, some from katkat’s mods (ayleid ruins, wayshrines, lowerclass houses) and a few are optimized (farmhouses).
The game feels a lot smoother than the last time I tried to add so many distant objects.

Well, GBRPluss did call it ORLite for a reason...

      ;-)

Not only is it called "Lite" because of cutting out 'problematic' OR features,
but he also used @Alenet's upcoming code optimized OR8 dll source code.
And continuously tweaked the shaders. ORLite currently is at version 3.4...

Like you, I also use uGridDistantTreeRange & uGridDistantCount=25,
but also use ORLite's "Shadows", "POM" & "Terrain" tweaked shaders for my "full" OR 7.1 install.
And also certainly noticed way better performance.

If you haven't already, as @1Mac advised,
you should really add all the new VWD mods on top of RAEVWD:

      - "VWD Rocks"
      - "Optimized VWD" (Cathedrals, Cloud Ruler temple, Farmhouses, Wayshrines)
      - "VWD for Town Houses"
      - "VWD Ships"

      ...and profit even smoother sailing!

It's even better without ORLite or OR ;)
Thanks for the suggestions, I saw them appear on the Nexus recently.

I think the glowing line is caused by a mod

I notice some seriously weirdly good behaviour too with ORL and new AMD drivers.

The glowing line is intended, it's from a mod by Katkat.
